Commenting on the backlash that followed after O'Rourke's comments on Wednesday, Lauren Hitt, his national rapid response director, maintained he would not "send officers door to door to collect weapons - just as we do not send the IRS door to door to collect taxes."

True. They'll just do a remote shutoff of your rights. Confrontation is so 19th c.

If they know you have a gun and have refused to turn it in, they will freeze your accounts, suspend your driver’s license, and start the process of removing your kids from your home. They will shut off your internet and cell phone as well. And they can do this without ever ringing your doorbell

34 Yes, and shut off your utilities, put you on the no-fly list and audit you both federal and state. In no time at all you’re reduced to a state of nature...or you’re in prison or the psych ward. In any case just one medical emergency away from annihilation.

36 No registration in most states. They don’t know who has what.

41 Do you really believe those on the spot background checks go into the cyberspace incinerator? I don’t.

For confiscation to work they have to know who has what guns. That raw data has existed since 1968 in a piece of paper, ATF Form 4473. ATF/ FBI has been forbidden from consolidating this raw data into a national firearm registry, at least up until now.

Whether 1 agrees or not, we are living in post-Constitutional times since the administration of POTUS #44 BHO, 2009-2016. We are 1 election away from losing basic freedoms acknowledged in the Bill of Rights, including the 2nd Amendment. History has demonstrated that the bad guys many times tell the rest of us in advance what their evil intentions are.

Freepers are catching on to what may well come to pass in the near future when the DemonRats take control of the POTUS and both houses of Congress. A complete national gun registry will not be necessary to achieve the purpose of the disarmament of private citizens.

The DemonRats will simply mandate that all ATF Form 4473s be digitized and keyed into a database/ national firearm registry. Won't matter if many/ most of the records are out-of-date. Citizens will have a bulls-eye painted on them.

Assign the "confiscation" process to the IRS. IRS will send notices to private citizens that by a drop-dead date they must surrender their firearms at a designated federal depot. Failure to comply will result in a lockdown on your personal finances and identification documents. Few will be able to withstand that pressure.

The DemonRats will not do massive door-2-door raids because that would not be efficient use of manpower and also put their brown shirts' lives in jeopardy. The DemonRats may well stage some doorbell raids on selected high-profile citizens for drama, propaganda, terrorism, and the sheer hell-of-it to further intimidate the sheeple.
