Beto's response was (paraphrasing) that he believed in the American people and that they would voluntarily proffer their AR-15s and AK-47s without needing the government or law enforcement to go door-to-door to confiscate them. All while flailing his arms around in the air like that made his point even more important.
Even if he know who all of the gun owners were, there are not enough law enforcement personnel in the nation to come close to carrying out this bizarre plan of his. An idea, not even a good idea, not well thought out.

Passed by Congress September 25, 1789. Ratified December 15, 1791. The first 10 amendments form the Bill of Rights:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Yeah, at 3 a.m. and they’ll place you in a black van? You think Blue lives mater now? Wait, when Beto’s guys enter the neighborhood and word gets out, he’s going to need a bigger PD, they will be faced with an “Organized Militia”, comprende?
When he leaves, we are on our own. Which, in a way, is a good thing. We will see for ourselves what we are made of because as sure as water will wet us and fire will burn us, the Communists, Leftists,other side, or whatever else you want to call them will try to make fertilizer and probably soap and lampshades out of us.
