I first saw the story in Bloomberg, which we cannot post but has a bit of credibility.

To tell the truth, I expected something like this.

I really did.

China cheats. On everything. Always.

Two headlines in a row form a coherent sentence...

China Ties Agriculture Binge to Trump Reducing U.S. Tariffs which also causes some black women’s weight problems, professor says (instead of vegetables--now consumed by China--they are eating Twinkies).

Trump should duplicate Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi, “no soup for you.”

So if US consumers are playing the tariff, why would China care. Maybe Neil Cavuto can explain that.

Truth is, the tariffs are making China less competitive and they are losing mass production to other countries. Trump is wrecking their economy with his tariff policy.

Gee, I thought Trump said he had a deal. I guess you sorta need to get these things on paper.

China cannot produce enough agricultural products to feed its on people. China does not have enough arable land or the desired weather on its arable land to accomplish this objective. They must import vast quantities of agri products to feed people and farm animals.

So they have to buy from some body. The world agri products market is a finite thing. American production is a very substantial part of that finite quantity. If the Chinese refuse to buy American agri products, then they have to outbid all other buyers for what is left. This cramps their economy. The Chinese are probably currently consuming their emergency stock piles, but this can only last for so long. This is why they came back to the bargaining table mostly seeking agri products. They are buying time in hopes that Trump will either be forced to resign or lose the election.

When they see the Democrat candidates in their debates, the Chinese are hoping that the impeachment farce works. They know that is a lousy bet as well. When they finally reach the conclusion that Trump will be president until 2024, they will be ready to negotiate on Trump’s terms in order to salvage their economy.

China’s leaders are smart too. This is the negotiating style of China.

Carrot, stick. Stick, carrot, rinse, repeat. Quid pro quo.

The bottom line is simple. If the USA and China doesn’t reach an equitable agreement that evens the playing field for both sides and particularly the working class then we will continue to lose jobs and get our technology stolen by the Chinese.

No big epiphany; just what we already know and what Trump is trying to fix.
