I’m very disappointed with Bolton.

There was a time when I talked this guy up as being a pretty savvy individual on global dynamics.

Sounds as if he’s gone full tilt deep state.

I have no tolerance for that. Someone should have planted their boot on his way out.

“I’m very disappointed with Bolton.”

He is and always has been a neocon warmonger maniac.

You’re both right about this deep state neocon POS.

He’s not the FIRST one I liked only to find out he was deep state garbage.

Since Trump’s been elected that’s gotten kind of commonplace.

Sounds like Bolton is trying to drum up a book deal. I’d take all these leaks with a grain of salt.

It's not that he wasn't savvy or has gone full tilt. He is a very driven and intelligent man, but he was also part of the deep state... Just in a wing that appealed to conservative tendencies more frequently.

Bolton has been part of the deep state dead set on pushing America into a hot war with Iran for decades. (The war in Iraq was partly about bracketing Iran)

While it's not a position without merit, war on that scale is something that should be entered into with the consent and approval of the American public. Bolton would rather wield the levers of power to draw us into war than to convince the public of the legitimacy of the argument and gain legitimate approval through legislative and electoral actions. This too is the deep state.

Breaking the deep state mindset, the mindset that important decisions should only be pondered upon and decided by experts inside the DC beltway because the rubes are too simple to understand, is utterly important to the future of the nation. If your policy argument isn't strong enough to be made in the light of day, it isn't strong. If your reaction to a policy loss is to call up a trusted media source and deliver a scathing report on background rather than being exposed to the sunlight.

The reason there has been a war on Bolton is not because anyone really thinks he is a hawk, as they often claim, but because he is a stalwart opponent of transnational progressivism and an opponent of the International Court, etc.

The reason there is a war on Trump is not because of Russia but because as a proponent of national sovereignity, as a nationalist, he is an opponent of transnational progressivism, a race/gender/tribal/identity politics/group rights ideology that is a bigger threat to the US and western civilization than any nation or even jihadists.

Who then, are the supporters of transnational progressivism? Human Rights Watch, Soros, any idiot who has ever been in favor of the International Court, Merkel, hordes of Democrats, and some RINOs. Strobe Talbot of the Brookings Institution. Guess who else is part of Brookings?

Oh, that would be British-born US citizen Fiona Hill. So, what is her position on national sovereignity, the International Court, etc? Is it in line with Talbot and Brzezinski of Brookings, or is it in line with Bolton?

I don’t think Bolton has gone deep state. He’s just a very strong personality who puts himself ahead of the team.
