I have just finished reading the comments. Some of them are outright hateful to all women and girls. To state that there is absolutely no reason for girls sports is an idiotic thing to say. Please pause a moment before posting just stupid and hateful statements. You sound a bit like stupid liberals who are always shouting out hateful things.
Let’s get serious. Not all women are radical feminists, but nearly all have a bit of feminism within them. It’s no different than boys who are masculine and proud to be boys. That is how it should be.
I do agree that radical feminism and the stupid exaggeration of equality in sports from the Title IX law are most of the reason for the problems here. Some sports ought not be offered to girls just because boys have them - like boxing, wrestling etc. Nor should the Title IX law be read to force equal money given to girls programs & common sense ought to rule. Football is a popular HS sport for boys. Trying to limit funds for football so as to equal funds for girls is silly.
Girls sports are very important to those who participate and there IS NO JUSTIFICATION TO ALLOWING BOYS TO COMPETE AGAINST THEM. To express that it is OK because some of you do not like girls sports is myopic. Others of us do enjoy women in sports. I have nieces and nephews who are into track and are good runners. Why should the girls not be able to compete against each other without the boys entering their races?
Finally as to classifications of competitions - consider this: In wrestling and boxing there are weight classifications - it is obviously why. Should we eliminate these classifications? It is a matter of allowing those who are not as big to compete within their peers = not to be battered by heavyweight boxers or wrestlers. This too is common sense.
