On the face of it, Michael Gerhardt is qualified to serve as a CNN legal analyst on constitutional questions. He is, after all, a Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Law at the UNC School of Law in Chapel Hill, and a Scholar in Residence at the National Constitution Center.
But there was one part of Gerhardt's resume that CNN hid when New Day's John Berman on Wednesday brought him in to comment on President Trump's decision not to cooperate with the House impeachment inquiry: Gerhardt is also a long-time Democrat activist. As per Wikipedia:
His two clerkships were for judges appointed by Democrat presidents.
He served as Deputy Media Director of Al Gores Senate campaign.
He drafted the judicial selection policy for the transition of Pres. Bill Clinton into office.
He counseled the Clinton White House regarding Associate Justice Stephen Breyer's confirmation hearings.
He acted as Special Counsel to Senator Patrick Leahy regarding the nominations of Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor.

“Analyst?” More like another Democrat shill.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Same reason the csucker, er hearsay whistleblower identity is being hidden from the public. Its a member of Team Warren. Her name was associated with it at the beginning.
UNC-CH is a sick lib bastion and home of Fake Black Studies degrees:-)
I’ll take “how propagandists work”, for $1000 Mark. Thanks for posting/playing.
Thanks, PG: as always, it’s my twisted pleasure!
Not an “analyst”, a professional Dim talking head on legal matters.
HOWEVER, only a very few smart legal analysts with years of looking at big legal issues are NOT either a Liberal or a Conservative. Very few stand in some middle ground, seeming to be Conservative on some issues and Liberal on others.
We have seen the same thing in reverse on Fox.
Fair enough, but a brief mention of his Democrat connections would have been in order.
“Fair enough, but a brief mention of his Democrat connections would have been in order.”
That has been a dead issue in the media for decades now. It seems axiomatic that that is not going to be done by the media 99.99% of the time.
LOL - one more 'objective journalist' from the liars at CNN...
