There’s nothing new here; but they are burying the lede.
The Russians tried to help Trump because they assumed he was going to lose, just like everyone else.
They wanted it to be as close and disputed as possible, however, to make the-assumed-inevitable Clinton presidency as weak as possible.
They’re doing the same now, but against Trump.
All this has been known since day one.
