I left Seattle for my own acreage in Kentucky in 2008. This kind of nonsense is one of the reasons. Modern american cities are a problem. Even Louisville, KY.
The answer is to simply get out.

Good on you. Following same life's path from a Detroit suburb to mid-Michigan. I wish I would have done it 20 years earlier.

I left Seattle in 2008 for flyover country in North Dakota.
Part of me misses Seattle, but the truth is I miss the memory of what Seattle used to be, not what it currently is. I couldn’t raise my kids there today. Instead they’re in a small town school with a bunch of farm kids, happy and safe.
