World-famous 16-year-old Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has thrown out a passionate challenge on climate change from the podium at the UN: "How dare you?"
She has also informed world leaders, especially President Trump, that she and her millions of followers will not be silenced.
In a sad and embarrassing scene, she has shown what it takes to silence her: Take away her script and ask her a question.
It was a softball question: What kind of message would you like to give to world leaders? After some fumbling, she came up with "We have had enough," and "Would anyone else like to answer that question?"
To me, she looks like a frightened little girl, and it would be cruel to interrogate her in front of a big audience, especially in a foreign language.
But there are a lot of questions to ask the school-ditching protesters who are blocking traffic – and the politicians calling for a Green New Deal. For example:
What did people do before we learned to pump oil out of the ground? (They killed whales.)
What do people do for heat when they have no electricity or natural gas? (They cut down trees to burn.)
Where did Greenland get its name? (It used to be green.)
Do you eat fruits like bananas and oranges? If so, how do they get to you? (On ships, planes and trucks fueled by the products of Big Oil.)
What raw materials do plants use to make food? (Carbon dioxide.)

The funny thing about this teenaged vegan’s opinion is that carbon dioxide, which she views as a pollutant, will make all her precious vegetables grow more plentiful. She should be pushing for more CO2 production!
LOL, 110% of 16 yr old females in their Jr. year of high school couldn’t care less about the planet, they are more concerned about which boy friend will take them to the prom, or even to the movies on Friday night. I remember such other “passionate challenges” of the past fifty years ago when some woman went into a fit that road salt used to de-ice roads was killing the planet.
Then she was followed by another fretting over worn down rubber tire residue on roads was killing the planet.
Then another weeping and wailing about how the city was polluting the atmosphere when it burned old Christmas trees.
They always found something to throw a fit about.
They are. However, they are as real to her as anything else in this world.
Also, the 'diagnosis' that she is a 'selective mute' is a joke being played on the whole world. While I know some people who just won't shut up, pretty much everyone is a 'selective mute'.

Considering the quality of schools these days, she is likely getting a much BETTER and MORE INFORMED view of the world, which should be a positive.
