The problem with a trial in the U. S. Senate, is that it will closely resemble jury nullification. Evidence will not matter one bit.

Votes all except for RINOs will go solid party lines. Romney and the other RINO, heaven only knows.

Some of these Republicans are convinced Trump is a rogue violator of the U. S. Constitution, and there’s simply no rhyme or reason to their logic.

If it goes to a vote in the U. S. Senate, I’d say it’s at least a 50/50 crap shoot.

It’s way bigger.

With so many other countries and their software counting our votes...

If there is an impeachment,
i.e. Crowdstrike and the seditious traitors win;
there may be more than
100 million people descending upon DC.

Question....If the President is impeached and removed from office after a senate trial can he run again for the office?

No, he can never hold public office again.

The Senate has less than NOTHING at all to do with impeachment ;ONLY THE HOUSE CAN IMPEACH, WHICH IS NOT A TRIAL...THE TRIAL AND REMOVAL/NO REMOVAL IS THE PURVIEW OF THE SENATE!

Yes, I wrote the last bit in all caps and bold; I did so beacuse obviously far too many here do NOT know anything at all about our Constitution, nor how this Representative Republic is supposed to work and I'm getting tired of reading error filled crap posts, that all 14 years olds used to knolw was incorrect.

"Clinton's impeachment trial occurred in 1999, presided over by Chief Justice William Rehnquist, ending with final votes on guilt or innocence..."

...and one vote of, "not proven."

It takes 67 votes to impeach in the Senate. There are 47 Dems. Unless they caught Trump sleeping with a dead woman or live boy while making that call to the Ukraine, I don’t see where they’re going to get the votes other than Mittens crossing over to vote with them.

Same here and frustrated, since you can’t really do anything and both parties are screwing over you.

While I agree that anything is possible, it is worth keeping in mind that something like 20 Senate Republicans are up in 2020 and the impeachment vote is just before Primary filling time... So extremely risky for them. Also, another 20 or so are up in 2 Years, not very long.

They know they are giving the Democrats a permanent majority every time they vote for amnesty, they don’t care.
Flimsey Grahamnesty has voted for amnesty THREE times.

I asked this question on another thread because I don’t know.

Would the Trump team be able to call ANYBODY as a witness and ask them ANY question that MUST BE answered under oath?

What would happen then? Would some start singing to save themselves?

That’s of course not a response to what I posted.
What I posted was entirely and irrefutably factual - what you posted is irrefutably false. Your response was also false by quoting only the last line, which you could not have gotten to without reading through what was posted previously - highlighting it only so you can act like the rest of it wasn’t there.

To repeat: Well, yes, Democrats are in control of the House now which is precisely why this is now happening. Pelosi is Speaker, Schiff is Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Nadler is Chairman of Judiciary, etc. all because the Democrats control the House. More Republicans, none of this nonsense would currently be occurring. Elections have consequences. Nunes would not have opened a hearing lying about the contents of a memo or transcript like Schiff did. A Speaker McCarthy would not have announced an impeachment inquiry. Those are facts, and as the saying goes, facts don’t care about your feelings. It’s reality. Period.
