I’m amazed that Laurie is still Sheriff. I left there 13 years ago. Was a SAR volunteer for the SO when she was new. Previous Sheriff (can’t recall the name) also only issued permits to insiders.

Not really a shock out here. There was a list published years ago where 80 out of the 100 Conceal carry permits were connected donors. Yes only 100 privilege persons. This is exactly why the 2nd amendment is in place.

Only the most rural CA counties may not require a campaign donation before granting a CCW permit.
Pretty certain this is some sort of partisan action, all the sheriff’s have done this, going WAY back!
