Is it not in the Constitution that DC was to never be considered for statehood? Or am I misremembering?

Like Obama, I'm not a Constitutional Lawyer, but I also believe it would take a lot more to make DC a state than a Bill passed in Congress.

Something like the actual states would have to get like 70 bazillion percent of the post election coverage. Never gonna happen.
