‘Take the land’: President Trump wants a border wall.
WaPo ^ | August 27, 2019 | Nick Miroff and Josh Dawsey

President Trump is so eager to complete hundreds of miles of border fence ahead of the 2020 presidential election that he has directed aides to fast-track billions of dollars’ worth of construction contracts, aggressively seize private land and disregard environmental rules, according to current and former officials involved with the project.

He also has told worried subordinates that he will pardon them of any potential wrongdoing should they have to break laws to get the barriers built quickly, those officials said.

We are coming down to the crunch in the Rio Grande Valley (this Fall), where significant condemnations (seizures) of private land will be needed, to get the wall built.

The public comment period just ended (26 Aug 2019), and the money is on hand. It is time to award contracts, and that means exercising eminent domain over those who won't sell.

The Rio Grande Valley is the main battle in securing the border, because it is so tough to build barrier there, and the illegal traffic is so huge through there (over 40% of the whole Southern Border). After the Rio Grande Valley (and nearby Laredo), everything else is much easier, faster and cheaper.

This story is just as fake as it was when it was posted this morning.

The 1,230,651st anonymously sourced source from the same sources who, without a doubt, assured us that Mueller had found Russian Collusion.

"On Monday, the Supreme Court dismissed a challenge to the Trump administration’s construction of a 14-mile border wall that would run near both of these critical habitats, as well as a completed two-mile border wall in Calexico, California."

Does the article imply President Trump will pardon the supreme court?

Until they start perp walking, they just keep doubling down against America.

They call themselves “patriots” and KNOW they are at war against America and all for which we stand.

Well then one must assume that they are aligned with muslims and antifa and BLM and any other group that will use any means necessary to “fundamentally change” the US.

Ah, as expected:

“Last night I made an error in judgment by reporting an item about the president’s finances that didn’t go through our rigorous verification and standards process. I shouldn’t have reported it and I was wrong to discuss it on the air. I will address the issue on my show tonight,” O’Donnell tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Attack mode again tonight — stay tuned, Hussein Heads!

Tragic. Excuse me while I go get a hanky to dry my eyes.

My readings seem to indicate Laredo will be a tough sell. Very little fencing there now and when the Wall gets built human traffic will stop or be slowed drastically. Many deeds to be signed over yet. But methinks President Trump will move quickly. He is after all, a builder.

I still say it’s way past time to start prosecuting our major media players for lying to the public.

Here the WP accuses the president of encouraging illegal behavior with the promise to cover for any criminal activity.

That’s a slanderous lie. The people deserve better.

The Justice Department and the Courts should start to clamp down on this sort of thing.

Well, first I say eff the environmental rules. So they dig some foundations, move some dirt, erect some fence. It isn’t like they’re building a railroad line across some supposedly sensitive wetland area (read: swamp) or anything.

“I still say it’s way past time to start prosecuting our major media players for lying to the public.”

As much as I would love to see them all blown from cannons, you just can’t get around that pesky First Amendment.

“Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press...

The media has been making things up (lying!) since the days of Peter Zenger! They have to make a dead line. In the old days fill up a page.. If the have nothing they are not going to leave the page blank! They want you to look read, see, hear! Mostly for cash , nowadays as much for their own egos as cash! They are not there as a public service! So if you take them seriously its your own fault! Therefore I see no grounds for suing them if they lie! Its like suing an author of fiction because its not true!

Media types are entertainers wannabes! However they can’t sing, dance, do comedy (Not deliberately!) or do real drama. What little drama they are capable of is a show of “fake knowledge & concern”. Media types from the written to TV all have a hyper-inflated view of themselves & their importance. We need to stop validating that view by paying any real attention to them or expecting anything useful.

Laugh at them, stop taking what they say as true or knowledgeable - Because 99/100 it isn’t!

And NO ! There never was a “golden age” when they were!

“My readings seem to indicate Laredo will be a tough sell.”

Laredo is the biggest city on the border, without significant barrier. When the neighboring Rio Grande Valley gets buttoned up by this FY 2019 construction program, the huge traffic flows will naturally shift to Laredo.

Laredo is the least diverse city in the USA - over 95% Hispanic. The Congressman from Laredo, Henry Cuellar, is the driving force in inserting poison pills and loopholes to prevent compete border barriers in the region, like the exemptions in the Rio Grande Valley (Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge, Bentsen State Park, La Lomita Chapel and the National Butterfly Center).

For the coming budget, he is seeking to insert more landmines, protecting “grave sites”, which can be a gray area requiring long delays, and be subject to fraud and nuisance lawsuits by Leftist front groups.

There has been a long dance with Laredo about barrier - the City wants a big waterfront development as a kick back to sweeten the deal. Local politicians must give lip service to opposing the barrier, to pander to local opinion, and to the powerful Mexican criminal cartels, who are so intertwined with the lives in their communities (including their own).

The real bottom line with condemnations under eminent domain though, is that the Government can take the land and do what they want in 24 hours. The lengthy lawsuits are just to settle the price of the compensation.

The Left seeks to intimidate officials into inaction, by threatening them personally with civil lawsuits (forum shopped to some Party hack judge in a rigged set up). A Presidential pardon could insulate them from potential personal liability.

The time to pull the trigger on condemnations in the Rio Grande Valley is now at hand. The contracts should be dropping like rain there over the next many weeks (1-3 months). The responsible officials must now gird their loins, and sign their names on the orders.
