The Mainstream Media Wants the Mifsud Story to Just Go Away

While many mainstream media journalists have been spinning fantasies for more than two years, based on Russian collusion stories being handed to them by anonymous sources, crack reporter John Solomon of The Hill has been pursuing real leads and uncovering actual evidence.

Now, Solomon is reporting that an audiotape containing professor Joseph Mifsud’s deposition has been given to both U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigators and to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“I can report absolutely that the Durham investigators have now obtained an audiotape deposition of Joseph Mifsud, where he describes his work, why he targeted George Papadopoulos, who directed him to do that, what directions he was given, and why he set that entire process of introducing Papadopoulos to Russia in motion in March of 2016, which is really the flashpoint the starting point of this whole Russia collusion narrative,” Solomon told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

“I can also confirm that the Senate Judiciary Committee has also obtained the same deposition,” he said.

Mifsud, who I have written about extensively in previous columns, is the key that turns the lock to the lid of this Pandora’s box that we refer to as “Spygate.”

So I’m wondering why Solomon appears to be the only mainstream reporter pursuing this Mifsud story.

I suspect it’s because many DNC Media outlets, after having fallen deeply and passionately in love with the Trump-Russia collusion hoax, are reluctant to call attention to something that would be the final nail in its coffin.

Agreed. The are numerous people involved; the connections are complex and there are many axes to grind. This cannot be investigated and adjudicated quickly. It must be methodical, clear and whole. This takes time. I know most want to finally see some action and get some relief, but to do it right....time.

I posted right after release of the Mueller Report that Mifsud would be a 'key' to unraveling the DS coup - because Mueller reported that Mifsud was a Russian asset when it was becoming apparent that he was not - he was a western asset. THAT is why Mifsud disappeared for months after the Trump election victory... and why he reappeared right where he should be.

What Mifsud can tell the investigators is who his control officer was... devastating to the DS scenario. {I believe it was Stefan Halper.}

Considering Mueller wasn’t investigating how “Russia Russia Russia” started, but only how to justify impeachment, I doubt they asked him any questions that would uncover how Papadopoulos was set up, the involvement of FVEY, Halper, CIA, etc. So, while Mifsud may well have information about the setup, I doubt any of it is in his deposition. If Durham wants that info, he will have to interview Mifsud himself.

The DNC was hacked.

Perhaps the hack was committed by Seth Rich and he gave the material to Assange.

Perhaps the DNC, in a panic, contacted a sympathetic FBI to find a way soften the blow of the DNC cheating by suggesting that the Trump campaign was cheating.

Perhaps the FBI realized that one tactic would be to blame the hack on the Russians. This would require that they hide the truth about the hack and eliminate the possibility that anyone could ever tell the truth about the hack.

Perhaps the FBI, rather than outright fake the examination of the DNC servers, instead contracted with a private company to lie about the hacking evidence found on the DNC servers. This relieved the FBI of of the duty to perform any examination at all and may have permanently eliminated any possibility of a real examination.

As for what happened to Seth Rich ... who knows. He crossed the Clintons. He wouldn't be the first.

Then, the FBI having faked the DNC hacking, they assigned Misfud to lie to Papadopoulus by saying that the Russians had the emails. Had George cooperated with Misfud, no doubt they would have supplied emails to him and claimed they came from Russians.

Then the FBI decided to dirty up George by giving him $10k that would be hard to explain, expecting him to smuggle it back to the U.S. Had George done that, the FBI would have had a very serious felony to charge George with as a means to coerce him into lying about the Trump campaign. Collusion with the Russians would have been "proven".

Fortunately, George Papadopoulus didn't try to smuggle the cash. He evidently did understate his contacts with Misfud which the FBI used to get him just a couple of weeks in jail. This was not enough to coerce George into becoming part of their conspiracy.

Now, thanks to George, and assuming that Misfud admits that it was U.S. intelligence agencies that sent him to Papadopoulus, we will soon have more interest in the DNC servers. Where are they? Who has had access to them? Who, if anyone, "wiped them with a cloth" or anything else? Who faked the report about the identity of the hacker of the DNC server?

Nixon in Watergate seriously underestimated the difficulty of hiding electronic evidence in the 1970s. The FBI may similarly have understimated the difficulty of hiding electronic evidence in the twenty-first century. I certainly hope so.
