It is remarkable. I’ve talked to people that will just insist “but it was ‘fact checked’” - as though that is the ultimate bottom line, that it’s just more layers of media is beyond their thinking.
If the media were so trust worthy why would the concept of ‘fact checkers’ be needed? So we can question the ‘media’ but not ‘fact checkers’ - when they’re just more media.
It’s weird.
I think it might have been Socrates who said something along the lines of “All that I know for certain is that I do not know.” 99% of our population would have NO idea what he meant, it would seem. This was lost on a recently former friend who was insisting that it had been “proven” liberals were more intelligent than conservatives. “There was a STUDY!” Good Lord. And this guy was “smart”, with an MBA... After suggesting that “studies” and their accompanying statistics are often skewed towards the favor of those who conduct them, I was summarily dismissed: “You don’t care about the TRUTH!!!” Idiot.
I believe Omar praised Al Qaeda, smugly at that.
It’s as though they’re completely unaware that there’s nothing that isn’t politicized. Liberals conducting a ‘study’ that results in them declaring they’re smarter. Wow. Well then, I guess that ends that debate! /s
The other aspect they’re guilty of is the whole ‘if you just knew what I know then you’d think like me, you’re just ignorant’ attitude. Hmmm, just maybe it’s possible that the concept is real but isn’t me that’s ignorant. It doesn’t even dawn on them that it might be THEM that would think differently if they understood more.

Yes, back in the day if the media reported it, it had an aide of truth about it. Once that was exposed as being B.S., the media tried (is trying) to re-establish it by just adding the words “fact check” to the same ole same ole.
In other words, Communists are smarter than Capitalists.
After all, there was a Study.
CNN and MSNBC Fact checking anyone is ludicrous.
