This has been an issue as formerly black areas fill with Hispanics; they want people who “look like them” to represent them, and frankly don’t generally have the best relations with blacks.

When blacktivists bemoaned the shrinking number of blacks in Major League Baseball, they were clearly considering Hispanics from negroid backgrounds as “not black”.

This is what race-baiting gets you...

Is the motive ethnic, or are the incumbents not liberal enough?

I’d have to check the data, but I’m pretty sure that Sheila Jackson Lee’s district is more hispanic than Lacy Clay’s.

I've not seen anything more violent than a Latino on Black gang violence where they are fighting over drug dealing turf.

“...Hispanics; they want people who “look like them” to represent them, and frankly don’t generally have the best relations with blacks.”

That is the dirty big secret of this “of color” nonsense. I think there is a lot more animosity between brown and black than there is either group and whites...I’m sorry people of non-color.

For better and worse blacks and whites have shared this country for over three hundred years. In spite of their claims of ‘Atzlan’ Latinos, or browns are relative newcomers who are pushing blacks out their old neighborhoods, which blacks resent.

My daughter-in-law is Japanese. I don’t think that even for one moment she or anyone who knows her thinks of herself as ‘of color’. Wonder why that is?
