New legislation would allow victims of illegal immigrants' crimes to sue

FULL TITLE: New legislation would allow victims of illegal immigrants' crimes to sue sanctuary cities for damages Senate Republicans announced new legislation Tuesday that would allow victims of illegal immigrant crimes to sue sanctuary cities for damages. The bill, sponsored by Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, would create a private right of action for the victims. And it would punish states or localities that try to hide behind sovereign immunity by withholding block grant money. Mr. Tillis said the bill is a “direct response” to moves by North Carolina authorities to refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. In one instance the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office released an illegal immigrant charged with trying to strangle a woman in a domestic violence incident. The bill would for the first time define in law what a sanctuary city is. As it stands, the bill would deem jurisdictions that refuse to notify ICE of the impending release of deportations target, or who refuse to detain targets for pickup, as sanctuaries. “If politicians want to prioritize reckless sanctuary policies over public safety, they should also be willing to provide just compensation for the victims,” Mr. Tillis said.

Federal government doesn’t do any interior enforcement on most illegals already here. If they did, we wouldn’t have 10-30 million in our country at any given time.

Victims should have put together ‘class action’ charges against the respective states LONG ago!!

While driving just last month, my niece was hit by a 15-year old illegal who drove into her head-on, jumped out and ran away.

She has 2 broken legs and a broken wrist, and her car was totaled. Her parents will receive FULL reimbursement for the hospital and rehab through a law that’s in effect in Houston to help pay hospitals for crime victims. Maybe along the same lines?

Why do citizens need “new legislation”?

Smells like complete BS to me.

Looks like something should be added to the list. Illegal alien victims’ restitution.

The list goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport.

Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.
