VP Pence was called back to the WH to deal with an emergency. He was on AF2, going to an event in Salem NH. The event has been cancelled.

Vice President Mike Pence has been called back to Washington from a trip to New Hampshire, according to reports from a Boston NBC station and the New Hampshire Union Leader on Tuesday. The reason was unclear. A White House spokesman did not immediately return a request for comment.

Vice President Mike Pence’s New Hampshire event on Tuesday has been canceled as he has been called back to the White House.
Pence had been scheduled to land in Manchester around 11:25 a.m., which is about the time the news broke that his event had been called off.
A spokesperson for the vice president originally said Air Force 2 was turned around due to an “emergency” but one of the people organizing the New Hampshire event has since clarified that it was a “diversion” and not an emergency.
No further information was immediately available.
Pence’s one-day trip was to include a meeting with alumni and former patients at the Granite Recovery Center headquarters in Salem. Afterward, he was scheduled to speak about New Hampshire’s opioid crisis.
He had originally been scheduled to return to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night.
