A day after she announced that the city of Chicago would not cooperate with planned deportation raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Mayor Lori Lightfoot is doubling down on her opposition to President Donald Trump’s policies.
The mayor, speaking to a gathering of immigration activists and concerned residents in the city’s Uptown neighborhood Saturday, had two words for the president.
“Back off,” she said to applause from the gathered crowd.

The message being sent is “nothing is illegal if you can get away with it”.

All these citizens breaking laws to protect lawbreakers, why don’t the go to some of these countries and volunteer so these people don’t have to make a treacherous journey and leave their relatives behind.
If they want open borders, do away with all welfare, including food stamps, for everyone. That way if people work they will make it if they don’t....they won’t. Ask our citizens if they are willing to give up all benefits so illegals can come in when they want.

I wonder what Chicago employees depending on the city for their pension (insolvent already) thinks about adding thousands of illegals to the city budget.
At an earlier time in this country one would get arrested and charged if they aided and or abetted a fugitive from the law. So the Feds need to arrest her and everyone else across this nation who harbors fugitives from the law and for complicity in ALL crimes committed by any illegal immigrant. As Congressman Cummings stated yesterday; “No one is above the law”! Options; we ALL either stand for law and justice as ONE nation or we capitulate to the political desires of the power-hungry and greedy ruling elite.
Add to that... Michigan still wanted the Justice Department grants that were supposed to pay the state for costs incurred supporting the Justice Department.
Now, they are refusing to comply and sued to keep the money anyway. Of course, a liberal judge agreed and blocked the Justice Department from withholding what were supposed to be discretionary grants.
