I believe this goes to the heart of Christian morality. We are all fallen creatures with the potential for great evil within us. One simple test is - how do you treat those people (and creatures) over whom you have power, especially life and death power?

Everyone likes to assume they are of course better than the nazi guards at Auschwitz. But really, if circumstances led you to that point, what choice would you make?

I would pray that all of us would treat people (and other animals) over whom we have power, I would hope we treat them gently and decently.
