FOX SHOULD HIRE HIM!

He’s got courage and the guts to say it.
He should be welcomed in the arena of ideas.
And contribute to the exposition of the terrible way that the Sainted Google operates.

I despise Google. Never use it willingly. Sometimes I am THROWN into it and that ticks me off.

Bring the antitrust action. Break them.

The people in charge of the breaking would be the same people benefitting from Google's data collection, so any such action would simply be cosmetic.

The only good fix is for the public to come to regard anything with a Google logo as a mask for a hacker trying to steal their personal information. But that will take time.

It’s not considered ‘good form’ to dis your employer in public..................

This guy is gonna sue and win. Labor laws protect employees’ rights to discuss working conditions in a public forum.

Several companies have lost suits brought after firing employees for badmouthing the firm on social media.

It’s stupid to criticize your employer in public, but it’s protected by the dept of labor.

And Google owns Youtube, which is now purging Republicans/conservatives (or anyone else) that it disagrees with starting this week.

"Look, according to National Review’s readership, Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc are private companies and therefore allowed to hire and fire anyone they want. If this Republican engineer is unhappy, he can go build his own Google and compete in the market place of freedom!"

You are correct JP, however. Where is vaulted wealthy talkers, industrialist on our side of the ledger to throw him 10 million to get going? The Koch's? the Anschutz? the Vos's? Limbaugh? Hannity? etc etc. I don't have it. fractional shares couple hundred bucks, I am in. I am so jaded / acrimonious especially after all the Senatorial Swamp Snakes have gone on record against Tariffs against what is a Terr***-narkho-state, I am supposed to have hope any of these clowns including our chattering class will do the right thing? Sadly, it is PDJT against the world, thank G-d at least we have his back, his own party doesn't, neither does the Digital Totalitarians of the Palo Alto Mafia...

These outrage mobs generate millions of clicks, thousands of posts, and probably make up a good percentage of Facebook traffic.

I guess Google would rather pay him a big settlement than change their ways.

I finally did. I went from google advanced search to the duck. It’s a good search engine, but doesn’t seem to honor the use of quotation marks to narrow the search for phrases.

I end up having to google google. LOL

Seems a little hypocritical. Unions are allowed and encouraged, and downright openly hostile, to the worker’s company. Yet conservatives are not pro-union. I’d go so far to say Anti-Union. If we don’t support a Union acting as the surrogate for the employee complaints, the alternative would have to be the supporting the individual doing it. We should 100% support the right of an employee to have the same protection enjoyed by Union Workers in a world without Unions.

Corporations are not benevolent, especially Silicon Valley.

All planning their exit to some safe space when the cell doors shut?

Seriously, your post is excellent and nails the real problem; our side is being crushed and not one (save for DJT) will stand up. The time for talk is over, we know the problem. We either organize and fight, or choose our own path in what will be a nation that run by left-wing psychopaths. I hate to start my day with these thoughts but reality is in my way.

I don’t use Amazon, Twatter or Apple.

I avoid Google.

Microsoft is less evil than the others.

I wonder if Google should be split into two companies:

“GOOGLE PATRIOTS” and

“GOOGLE QUISLINGS”.

“GOOGLE PATRIOTS” would be an open platform, which would be able to ban certain WORDS, like the four-letter words we all know, but not “ideas”. “GOOGLE PATRIOTS” would continue to have protections against libel litigation for the articles and messages it publishes.

“GOOGLE QUISLINGS” would be like a private “blog”, where management could ban CONTENT. “GOOGLE QUISLINGS” would NOT have protection against litigation regarding libel and defamation. Therefore, “GOOGLE QUISLINGS” would have an incentive to REALLY “fact-check” the content it publishes and to ban “fake news”.

When the “split” occurs, current employees of Google could decide where they “belong”. As could Google’s current subscribers.

He should seek crowd-source VC funding for his own startup. We’re gonna need people like him in the future.

I read Wacker’s open letter. It documents his charges of viewpoint discrimination very well. But it also makes me wonder if anybody actually gets any work done at Google. No company I ever worked for had politically based special interest groups for employees.

If this Republican engineer is unhappy, he can go build his own Google and compete in the market place of freedom!

Do you have half a trillion dollars to lend him to build another Google?

If not, your idea is unrealistic. The days of starting a Trillion dollar internet company in your garage to compete against Google are long over.

If you want in this poker game, you have to plunk down 500 billion.

Sounds like a serious lawsuit. I highly doubt that Google wants to go through any serious legal discovery ahead of an anti-trust lawsuit.
