This is AOC’s party now

For the last couple of months I’ve been wondering whether or not the Democratic Party is lost. I’ve written multiple times that they seem to be lost, but I’ve quietly been watching the trends to see if there’s any hope for the party to ever be moderate again. As of today, I see the only future of the party being one of extremism, socialism, bigotry, and idiocy.

As much as I hate to give “credit” to someone whose policies I loathe, I must admit that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been extremely instrumental in the downfall of her party. She may be a pawn of the Justice Democrats, but she’s also the clearest representation of an underlying force within the party that has been essentially tamed until now. The hyper-leftist radical progressive wing of the party has been held in check for years, but between the 2016 election and the emboldened residue of Senator Bernie Sanders’s failed attempt to secure the nomination, this small wing is now in charge.

And AOC is leading the way.

She’s not the ideological leader. She’s a figurehead with a strong social media presence to rally the base behind and around. The actual ideological leaders are not in the spotlight. They are her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti. They are the public leaders of the Justice Democrats, Alexandra Rojas and Nasim Thompson. They are the people whose names I’ve never heard of, and that’s by design. But they operate through AOC and others in the public eye to condemn any Democrats trying to preserve a modicum of sensibility within the party.

And they’re out for blood.

Since there’s so many people running for President (& not enough for Senate), instead of obsessing over who‘s a “frontrunner,” maybe we can start w some general eliminations.

This awful, untrue line got boo’ed for a full minute.

John Delaney, thank you but please sashay away 👋🏽 https://t.co/0RDOwbfcgv

They’ve infected every level of the Democratic Party and that should terrify Republicans. Some are foolishly applauding as if the conservative message is so strong there’s no way a socialistic message could ever resonate. But it is. More people are calling for socialism every day even if they don’t realize it. When they applaud the concept of Medicare-for-All, they’re embracing socialism. When they say the Green New Deal is necessary to save the environment, they’re embracing socialism. When they say student debt should be forgiven, they’re embracing socialism. Many of them don’t even realize it. They’re just happy to see the shiny surface of these ideas without taking a moment to extend these concepts to their logical conclusion.

We cannot rest on a notion that socialism can never prevail. That’s giving way too much credit to a population that spends very little time learning about what their politicians are proposing or the issues they claim to be tackling. We live in a society that is easily manipulated into buying whatever notion sounds good in a sound bite. A Tweet is enough to stir the masses. A slogan can propel the majority of a generation.

No, we’re not winning the fight against socialism because we’re failing to acknowledge it has a chance of actually being implemented in America. We’re ignoring the existential threat because we expect others to recognize it for what it is. But they won’t unless we make them. This is just another reason why I’m so adamant about promoting independent conservative media.

It’s a huge mistake to look at people like AOC with scorn at her shortcomings without acknowledging that her message is clearly resonating. Socialism is in our future if we don’t give the problem the attention it deserves.

If she’s the party, then Democrats can enjoy ever shrinking influence....

John Delaney, thank you but please sashay away

What is she implying with using the word "sashay"? Is she implying that Delaney is gay? If so, then she must be homophobic.

2024 should scare everyone. The far left groups will only get more and more control over the Democrats as the party goes even more insane after Trump gets reelected in 2020. And the American people love “change elections” after one party is in office for a full two terms.

Now imagine the “change” when you’ve got the just turned 35-year-old socialist barbie bartender as the Democraps candidate along with an even more heavily millennial and immigrant voting populace.

It’s a recipe for complete disaster that people would be foolish to count out.

2024 Democract candidate for President. Boomtards will want to think they are still hip and cool. Millennials don’t want to wait much longer to get one of their own in power.
