The Marine was operating and MSC truck. Border Patrol agents have been operating these alone for years and many of us have talked about how unsafe it is to be operating one a lone. Some of these trucks are more than an hours drive from the station and backup may or may not be readily available.
You cant see outside of the truck because all the windows are covered, the only way to see outside of the truck is to use the camera. Problem is that you are using the camera to look at radar hits that are occuring elsewhere. This is not the first time illegals have approached the trucks but it is the first assault that I know of.
His assailants obviously thought he didn't. Now they know the troops have at least a loaded sidearm. Expect an escalation to sniping.
