Trump has not “ threatened” to release them. He has promised to release them. He couldn’t do it before the Mueller report came out. Now it is just a matter of timing as to whether it should be before or after the IG report. I assume the WH already knows what is in the IG report.

Trump knew he was innocent.
When people started talking about a Special Prosecutor in early 2017, Trump could have said, “F-— that noise! I order the DOJ, the FBI, and the intelligence agencies to immediately release EVERY document and every internal communication related to this issue.”
That would have been the INSTANT conclusion to the entire Russia Hoax.
