Forty-plus years ago I was effusively open and hospitable to out-of-the-closet gays and lesbians, just to show I was a warm'n'responsive person and to make up for the meanies.

Now we're at a point where if I don't overtly remodel my vocabulary, use their words, bake their cakes, let them teach their sexual quirks to my kids, or dance to their tune, they may well find a way to destroy my business, sabotage my private life, or put me in jail for what they ludicrously misdescribe as "hate."
