I have a different viewpoint...you can’t be a winner if you don’t fight, and I have known plenty of angry fighters. He is one of them.
And winning over people from “the other side” is a pipe dream. I have found they are rarely won over, but instead cross that bridge to conservatism largely on their own. I gave up proselytizing to the Left a long time ago.

I have found old leftists won’t change. Like Soviets whom the state took a dislike to, they can be dragged to a gulag in a nighttime knock raid kicking and screaming in puzzled protest, and then cry over Stalin’s death when they find out about it in a gulag. There is little hope of redemption for most of them, IMO.
Younger leftists can and do become conservatives on their own without much help when they go out to earn a living, raise families, and pay taxes.
