So, the idiot willingly disenfranchises the vote of his state’s citizens? Really stupid. Wonder if this is constitutional, state or federal?
Article II, Section 1, Clause 2
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.
You don't have a constitutional right to vote for President. The electors are chosen solely as the State legislature directs. How the electors are then to vote, is not specified by the Constitution. While this seems a spectacularly stupid action by the Colorado legislature, I'm not convinced it's unconstitutional.
Well - no more campaign stops in Colorado. No more consideration of what Colorado or its voter’s want. Hey Governor - I don’t care if you want tax breaks for your wind mills, natural gas, corn crops, help with foreign trade, an expanded military base, etc.
But thanks! Now I can just focus on the NE and California and win the popular vote. That goes the same for all of the other worthless states in the middle.
Give me 8 years and we can turn this country into that place like the Hunger Games. All of you people in the no-name places can feed and supply the majority of the country that live on the coasts.
