Yep. “Consensus” is one of the annoying buzz words that eco zealots used to assert authority. You’re right. There is no consensus.
On the bright side, it is reported that the Donald is convening an expert panel to analyzed and contest the latest UN and EPA science fiction. It would be good to have a counter point.

It won’t be long until San Fran Nan, Steny Hoyer, and RAT House leadership try to put a muzzle on her. That’s when the fun and popcorn eating really begins. I don’t think Nan and the Gang have any idea how much appeal AOC has with the RAT rank and file especially with millennials. If they try to shut her up all hell will break loose. The Democrats have way too many special interest groups to please. Their hate for Trump is the only glue holding them together. Beyond that most of these groups don’t particularly like each other!

Claiming overpopulation remains a “problem” is to assume no changes in technology.....which clearly has not been the case... Also - regular free-market price signals help inform couples about expected affordability and cost of living conditions as they make “family” plans. Duh Dept. .......

If I’d have talked back to and over the adults in the room like the AOC clones in DiFi’s office and my parents knew about it.... I’d be picking myself up on next Tuesday. You don’t address adults in such a manner even if you disagree with them.
This is the perfect solution to all of our problems. AOC is a genius. If we skip one generation to give the planet a chance to cool down, global warming would be solved and humans would...um...cease to exist.
Not being snarky, an honest question. Where have we raised other nations’ standard of living and it worked? If we have examples of it I’d like more of it. Especially if we can do it without giving them “aid”.
Liberals say we shouldn’t have kids for the planet and all the jobs will go away.
The ignore how this eugenic attitude hurts them and their policies. For example, if automation will take away 20% of jobs, the moral answer is to end immigration and deport illegal immigrants and their children. Reduce the labor supply to match the demand - and that doesn’t violate citizens’ rights.
If we have too many people, mandatory fool proof contraception for those on welfare is logical. Then they can’t have kids (and they tend to have more children than average), while productive working parents tend to have replacement or lower levels of fertility.
Both of those reasonable solutions would undermine liberals’ voting base. Instead, they lie to working citizens about how much it costs to have kids, you’re evil if you have children, so they can replace us with “better” people.
I'm hoping they've overreached on abortion enough recently for the public to have a bad taste in their mouths for a while.

One of things I discovered when I moved to SC is the delightful behavior of the children. It’s yes sir and yes ma’am all day long.
Once a ten year old girl saw me approaching the door at 7/11 and rushed to open it for me. Children defer to seniors.
Children with manners is not a fluke. It’s the culture.
Just don't make it mandatory. In a free country, if climate change actually happens and causes problems, each individual must be free to decide how best to cope with the particular aspects of climate change that affect him.
Indeed, I'd say for the sake of the unborn perhaps any Leftist should not have children as clearly they are a bad influence with all their inner hate.
But then what happens? WE turn our *own* kids *over* to them by putting them in the left-wing attitude-implant centers (public schools) where the sterile lefties transform normal kids into their own surrogate children.
