Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chief of the Chinese side of the China-U.S. comprehensive economic dialogue, led the Chinese delegation at the seventh round of China-U.S. high-level economic and trade consultations in Washington on Thursday and Friday.

During the meeting with Trump, Liu He first conveyed a message from President Xi Jinping to President Trump. In his message, Xi hoped that the two sides will continue to act in a mutually respectful and win-win manner and continue to work hard to reach a mutually beneficial and win-win agreement.

Liu He said that over the past two days, the economic and trade teams of the two countries have conducted fruitful negotiations and made positive progress in trade balance, agriculture, technology transfer, intellectual property protection and financial services.

He said the two sides will redouble their efforts and intensify consultations to fulfill the important responsibilities entrusted to them by the two heads of state.

Trump said that a lot of progress has been made in this round of high-level economic and trade consultations while much remains to be done. To this end, the two sides have decided to extend this round of consultations for two days.

He said that the U.S. side is willing to work with China to achieve more results and “there's a very good chance” that the two sides will strike a deal “that's going to be good for both countries.”

Trump also said that he looks forward to meeting with President Xi Jinping again in the near future to witness the historic moment of US-China economic and trade relations.

Front page news in china. Not a peep in the American mainstream media.

Not posted under front page news" because (I believe) that that is solely for front page articles out of the mainstream American media ONLY.

My pet peeve is the media uses the titles of “President” and “Vice Premier” as if they mean something. Red Chinese government titles are a sham. Rank in the Party is what matters.

Mr. Liu is a Politboro member, which means he has influence and authority. That General Secretary Xi sent him, indicates this is a real negotiation.

At least we finally have a President willing to address China's rotten trade dealings....and the theft of intellectual property.

I had a friend who worked for a large corporation. When Chinese reps visited, employees were told to clear their desks except for trivia papers....that they were visiting for one purpose...thievery.
