At 29 years old, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — already known as “AOC” for short — is too young to be eligible to run for US president. But her phenomenal impact on American politics means that she could play an outsized role in deciding who does.
As her fellow Democrats jostle for position ahead of the 2020 primary elections, an endorsement from Ocasio-Cortez is likely to be a widely coveted prize, a guaranteed shot of adrenaline sure to energize her army of millennial voters. But it could also come with perils in the later presidential contest, especially for so-called “centrist” candidates hoping to draw independents and moderate Republicans away from Donald Trump.
In little more than a month, Ocasio-Cortez, whose New York district includes parts of the Bronx and Queens, has taken Washington by storm, overshadowing career politicians who have spent years laboring in the 435-member House of Representatives. Her proposals — among them a Green New Deal to combat climate change and a 70% tax rate on earnings over $10 million to tackle economic inequality — have reset terms of debate in the early stages of the Democratic contest.
“This is a race to the left,” said Dave Handy, a New York-based political consultant and organizer. “Even if people don’t like her or her policies, they will be racing to get her endorsement because it’s a progressive check mark. She embodies the general direction the party is going in.”

Thanks to a blunt President who can speak directly to us, the media has lost some power. They still have the power to polish a turd to a luster.
I actually think the Rat Party will bide it’s time, let OC have lots of rope to hang herself, and then defang or/or destroy her. An endorsement by this stupid little b*tch will guarantee defeat for the Rat nominee.
I’ve heard enough from Ocasio-Cortez, to think that anything she’s in favor of, I am against. So any candidate she would endorse for election, I would be against.
I wonder how many other more moderate or independent voters feel that way, that Ocasio-Cortez is an idiot with pie in the sky dreams of socialist utopias, that they would automatically go in the other direction from anything she is in favor of.

Then, let her campaign against President Trump and chase away thousands of so called independent voters every time she opens her mouth in front of the left wing tv cameras.
I don’t agree with the premise. Palin was made out to be a dolt by the media. They did what they always do, they stressed and took out of context anything said by a Republican, no matter who. Guess what? Public figures who have everything they say analyzed and repeated, sooner or later are going to say something stupid. However, I think AOC is capable of setting new records.
She was amusing and good for a laugh,but she just caused the loss of 25,000 jobs. She is dangerous and will have to be dealt with.

The Democrats are just not capable of that high a level of strategy. THEY will not give AO-C the free rein just so she can hang herself, they really think she is the “right” person to institute the brand of Socialism that will finally work in the manner it was intended.

Sarah Palin was caricatured by the media as being an idiot.
I don’t recall all details, but, Sarah Palin had great experience managing Alaska’s resources including oil revenues.
Then, she was dismayed at political corruption in Alaska, and took on a sitting Republican governor when she ran for governor.
She had job approval ratings approaching 80% during her time as governor.
And per feminist criteria, she truly “had it all”, by having risen to a high level in her chosen career, and also having a happy family life.
Based on her history, if Sarah Palin had been liberal, she would have been celebrated by the media as a true feminist icon, a true role model for women. Instead, because she was so politically conservative, the media set out to destroy her.
Why did teams of reporters descend on Wasilla, Alaska, when she became the VP nominee?
And why did the Associated Press hire 11 fact checkers to pore over every word in her book? Did they ever do that to Obama’s book? Hillary’s book?
AND her excuse was some lame 1950's commie 'class warfare' crap...
Or she can sue to officially change her age.
Dr. Bernard Nathanson wrote about the beginning of the abortion movement. He said that it was decided that they would push the women out front that way all the girls would get the media attention and the men could get a lot done behind the scenes.
I think of that every time I see AOC open her mouth. They are letting her get all the press. What are they doing behind the scenes?
Another thing, the first abortion women, along with AOC, think that they are making a difference for all womenkind --- but they are just being used.
Just wait until the guys pushing her out front decide she is no longer the democrat wunderkind.
