WASHINGTON—President Trump on Friday declared a national emergency over border
security, bypassing Congress in an effort to divert money from elsewhere in the
government to pay for the construction of additional barriers along the southern U.S. border.

Mr. Trump also signed a bipartisan spending bill that will keep the government
funded through the fall and allocates $1.38 billion for 55 miles of border
barriers—far less than the $5.7 billion the president had asked for.
Unsatisfied with the amount set aside by Congress for barriers, Mr. Trump
plans to also draw roughly $6.7 billion from military and other sources,
without the approval of Congress. The move was likely to draw immediate
court challenges.

I'll add you guys to my $5 bet. I realize it's fun sometimes to be pessimistic, but it doesn't really pay off unless you learn and adapt. That is, behavior modification gained from prior experience.

Remaining perpetually negative causes situations where you might miss significant changes. Also, juvenile retorts like 'standing is what a judge says' is demeaning. Lots of people read these comments, and that kind of petulance just IDs lack of seriousness.

The sovereignty of this country, and the challenge posed by demographic substitution is a very big deal. Trump crossed the Rubicon today, and hopefully you come to the same realization that 10s of millions of progs have reached. This pronouncement is the biggest existential threat to the left since Trump was actually elected.

He has managed to restructure the playing field and place the scrutiny onto the obstructionists and traitors.

That wasn’t sarcasm.

Uh no. The courts have the upper hand because Trump gives it to them. Do you now trust roberts to vote accordingly and RBG is still in play. Trump has abdicated power to courts before on immigration and national security and this morning he indicated he will do it on this emergency. HTH do you respond to an emergency by judicial fiat. The codes says congress can override not the supremes. Trump should have manned up and told the courts they have no say or standing or whatever makes you most comfortable.

Meanwhile. Tonight children are being dragged across the border to be sexually molested by strangers claiming to be their parents. Now thanks to that bill ICE can’t even stop them.

That’s right he cannot just remove an item. It would have to be re voted on so the Rat mayors have veto power to kill the fence in their town. F’n disaster.

Demographic replacement and Latin-american style socialism. But like most freepers, you’ll be six feet under when La Raza assumes complete control of this country.

Did anyone really think Kalergi would be overturned via the ballot box?

“but signing the emergency declaration first would be insurance.”

I thought so at first but now I wonder if signing declaration then signing bill which limits things is hurtful?

I’m trying to find answers.

like 'standing is what a judge says' is demeaning.

Demeaning but true, ask Alan Keyes.

I see all the concern trolls have co-opted this thread......so good at whining and so bad at finding positive ways to support the only guy who is actually taking the battles to the enemy with the intent of winning the war i stead of letting it continue to drag on w/o anything changing....
