Are Neandertals pre-Flood people?

Published: 2 February 2019 (GMT+10)

Markus B. asks:

I am in contact with someone who has read your article Neanderthal genome like ours. He does not agree with what you have written in your article, and thinks instead that Neanderthal man lived before the Flood and completely died out in the Flood (he also thinks Homo erectus, Homo heidelbergensis and Homo denisova died out in the flood). He argues that the genome of the Neanderthal man and modern man mixed already before the flood, and that this would explain the findings.

Why don’t you go to DU, they will like you there.

Unlikely. They’re not fond of people who are in favor of gun rights, a free market, a strong defense policy, treating all races equally by eliminating racial preferences, and slashing social spending.

I do thank you for the suggestion, though.

No, they’re Democrat members of Congress.

so that would have to have included Neanderthal and all the others.

Well, it obviously didn't include the largest dinosaurs.

This is my OPINION: During the trip on the ark predator diets were changed. Also, the millions of new species developed from the basic two-by-two ones that were on the ark.

Going by what I said above, there probably were BASIC animals that were the parents of the different species, in other words, large cats. Maybe before there were so many different species of animals the land mass separated.

See...opinion.

Yours is the best explanation.

Interesting that the Bible is bookmarked by 2 ELE events, the flood and Revelations.

They enjoy insulting people who believe in God.

They enjoy insulting people who believe in God.

I suppose they do… But that has nothing to do with what I said. To begin with, most people who believe in God don’t believe in a Biblical flood. Describing that story as a “myth“ no more insults people who believe in it than describing the story of Athena springing from the head of Zeus as a myth insults the ancient Greeks.

Oh, so you compare a the God of the Bible to Zeus? And you say that isn’t insulting? There are perhaps 100,000 people who still believe in Zeus. There are a billion people who believe in God, and the Bible.

You are a despicable person.

Carbon and other dating techniques are totally unreliable beyond a few thousand years. The atmosphere was completely different pre-flood.

Look, you either believe the Bible or you don’t. But you should realize that if there is a God, and devil, and war between them, you should be careful what channel you get your news from.

believe the Bible said that two of every species were included in the manifest, so that would have to have included Neanderthal and all the others. Of course they would have been given separate (but equal) accommodations.

So does that mean Noah is my great, great, great ,great ,great ,great, great ,great, great, great, great ,great ,great, great, great, great, great grandfather?

Heck, maybe they were the cause of the Flood.

But at least their speaking accent lives on in New Jersey.

Noah had three sons on the Ark:

Shem - the father of the Semitic people (Jews and Arabs)

Ham - the father of Egyptians, North Africans, Canaanites and Ethiopians

Japeth - the father of the people of Turkey and elsewhere to the north

This seems to account for the tribes in or near the Middle East.

I do not know how the “young Earth” creationists account for the people of sub-Sahara Africa, the aboriginal people of Australia, Polynesians, South India, East Asia or the Americas.

For what I can tell, they (must have) come out of the dispersion of peoples following the destruction of the Tower of Babel, which involved extensive changes in their language, appearance, and customs, their knowledge of all kinds of tools, and their near instant transportation across the globe.

According to “old earth” creationists, the flood covered the known world of that time and place; and, so, there is only a need to explain the re-population of that region of the world.

I had no appreciation for the difficulty of typing on a smart phone until I tried it myself. You’d think my fingers were clubs and they were expecting the point of a strand of uncooked spaghetti.

I don’t know that it was all that mythical.
The breakthrough of the Atlantic at Gibraltar could flood the world as the locals saw it.

Well explained. Geological science does indeed indicate and support a deluge. And some indicators point up to 4,000 ft elevation. But this fact doesn’t prove and legitimize the Bible in whole. There are hundreds of these same flood stories in almost every tradition around the world. Doesn’t prove these as true gospel in whole either. But there was indeed a world flood. No geologist worth their salt would argue this fact.
