If President Donald Trump has one gift it is that he can command a room — and a national audience when he needs to.
The president gave his second State of the Union Address before a packed Congress and gallery Tuesday night, hitting a theme of political unity hard as he reached out to hostile Democrats who, at several junctures during his speech, stood and applauded.
Overall, more than three-quarters of Americans — 76 percent — approved of the president’s speech, according to a CNN poll taken right after he finished.
CBS News, in a similar survey, found that 72 percent of Americans supported the president’s message, with 59 percent in the CNN poll saying it was “very positive.”

It was a very touchy-feely SOTU... but the fact is... a good chunk of voters vote on their “feelings”. Trump is smart, and may have just secured re-election.

the dem talking point is that those in the poll were only those who listened to the speech, and dems had boycotted the speech.

CNN published a “fact check” of the speech which was reported on our local news. Of course, everything he said was not correct per them. I penned off a note to the editor explaining it was a load of CNN crap akin to stuff I would expect to have found in TASS in the 80s Furthermore, when did they ever “fact check” the moron who was pissident for 8 years? Never. I noted also they dwelt upon the border issue and never said boo about the economic issues.
These people really annoy me.
If Pelosi was smart (she’s not smart) she would have allowed the SOTU during the shutdown.
The fact that so many people bothered to tune in is the important fact that everyone is missing.People tuned in to watch and listen and they will again. They have been hooked and now will pay attention. Trump did a great job hitting all his future campaign themes. Trump is branding his name with the word GREAT.
Why does anyone...ANYONE...give a rat’s butt what Coulter has to say about anything? What makes her an authoritative voice about anything? She is unattractive both physically and verbally. She is the very personification of a shrew.

I think her messing with the schedule was intended to confuse people so the viewing numbers would be lower. it was a gamble but the Democrats have to control everything. They should definitely keep the white uniform going. Trump is a Ninja
