From what I hear, he did try to shrug it off...thinking that, as a Democrat, the press would cut him all the slack he needed.
But what he got was the press asking him if he could still do the moonwalk...and would he give a demonstration.
The press apparently got its orders from somewhere above the governor. Like from the DNC.

Yes, but the real mistake will be violating COMMUNISTIC secular mores retroactively being enforced upon us that violate conservative and Christian principles.
At this rate, any old book or film that violates Political Correctness - a communist weapon - will be banned.
Confederate statues were just the beginning.
