From numerous sources, Renat Akhmetshin’s was a sort of supernumerary brought to the meeting at Trump Tower by Veselnitskaia as a translator. I got the impression he just arrived with her, had not been invited or expected, and played almost no role in the meeting itself.

So that begs the questions, who paid Akhmetshin $500,000 and for what exactly? What’s was he really up to? Why is the OSC with a mandate to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 election so incurious abut that? My assumption has been that he was there as a minder to watch Veselnitskaia for their mutual bosses. $500,000 is a bit steep for that alone.

Sad to read this article from near six months ago and realize there has apparently been no effort to gather these basic facts of Spygate by the GOP controlled Senate. But fortunately Mike Lee is on the ball trying to eliminate H-1B country caps and allow an unlimited number of Indians get green cards.
