Medical companies have been creating experiments designed to fail, for a long time.

If you’re going to try any supplement don’t take one a day take 10. If you’re deficient you need to build it back up.

Do that for a week and see if you noticed any change.

If you take vitamin d be sure to take magnesium or you’ll get cramps like leg cramps

Vit D is better received the natural way. From the sun. Join a nudist camp. It’s healthier.

We run around here outside naked all summer but live back in the woods where no one can see us.

Be careful. I got sick taking too much Vit. D over a long period of time.

Now its vitamin D. Who knows what is next?

Vitamin D3 has worked for me for these last 12 years. No viruses at all and I have not had a flu shot since 1966. My wife was a school teacher and used to bring a virus home two three times a year. When we started on the D3 that didn't happen again. C helps a lot also as does A, K2, and B12 for specific conditions or for mutual enhancement. My brother pooh-poohs these things, especially D3 and gets the flu shot every fall and the flu once or twice in the winter.

Laura Beil is in the tank for her big pharma buddies in the Kaiser Family Foundation.

https://www.sciencenews.org/author/laura-beil

If it is useless, then why does she worry if people buy it? It will not matter right?

Anyway, I love how Laura said “In the supplement world, vitamin D is a bit like a Kardashian. Its fame seemed to come out of nowhere about a decade ago”

The fact that she does not even understand this tells us everything we need to know.

MK4 has actual real studies while MK7 does not.

Although a lot of people appear to prefer MK7.

Vitamin D3 REQUIRES Vitamin K to activate it. I take a couple D3 5000IU daily and a broad spectrum Vitamin K as some sub-components have been shown to have value to prevention of colon cancer.

I think the "studies" are measuring the wrong benefits and making a nay saying declaration based on false premises.

I was taking the RDA of D3 daily — until my endocrinologist recommended upping that by a factor of 10. I split the difference, and am now taking about 5,000 IU/day. I’m just taking it for bone health. The results of this study might have been very different, with higher doses.

There is great evidence that Vitamin D is at least an indicator of something good, but it looks like it is really sunlight we need.

Sunlight is fine for people south of 30N. I'm north of 42N. I could run around naked in the Summer time and still end up deficient in sunlight generated vitamin D. 10 to 15 minutes with your shirt off in San Diego can net you 20,000 IU of converted vitamin D in your skin. Besides, it has been subfreezing for months in Idaho. I'm not going out without my shirt on.

I would not listen to the Mayo Clinic. They are full of crap.

Vitamin D is a fat soluble. Meaning it takes 6 months leave your body vs. a water soluble that takes 3 hours. Nevertheless, most people are severely Vitamin D3 deficient and it takes years to get to toxic level.

You just need to ask yourself this. Do you know anyone that ever died of too much Vitamin D? I do not. Not one single person ever. However, I know at least A LOT die a year from pharmaceuticals.

If you get toxic from any vitamin, then you just quit taking it for a while. That is it. Haha!.

I’ll just keep on going with 10,000 units a day and have no complaints and monitor levels yearly.

The medoco boffins did all they could to poo poo the research when it started. In poultry production it is considered essential by those I consider very expert.

I’m hardly ever sick with virus. It has been years since I have had a cold or flu.

...and they tell diabetics to keep eating CARBS. My God, these people need to be told to GO TO HELL.

Fully agree. The "balanced diet" approach with a grotesque food pyramid putting the most important foods in the "eat sparingly" top part and the most destructive foods at the "eat often" bottom is medical malpractice on a colossal scale.

However, the medical community is as vested in this bad nutrition science just like globalist scientists are vested in the "global warming" nonsense so we are unlikely to see a change here.

Fortunately, many doctors and nutritionists are correctly identifying sugar (carbs) as the main culprit in our massive obesity and disease problems.
