I like that idea! In both my husband's family and mine, I was the Designatd Liar to "the Moms".
For DH's mom, I saw her daily and the lies varied with the weather and her moods. The point of the lies were to keep her safe - "Hello, cab company? You are not allowed to pick up my mom at this address and take her to the Superstore. She has dementia and no money." "Mom, guess what? The cab company won't drive out here anymore!"
In my family, I was the only one brave enough to lie to my mom (she could shoot lightening out of her eyes). And both families were big Catholic families...what are the odds that I would be the DL for both teams? LOL
I doubt that CBS wants anyone to be able to drive. They have to start somewhere, and this gets them publicity.
South Florida is loaded with them like that...ancient New York democrat transplant relics who never had a drivers license until they were 65.
Maybe he wants his other hip replaced. He just had one of them done in April 2018, which only shows that babies like Alfie Evans gets thrown in the trash, but a 96 year old Royal can get a hip replacement without question or restrictions.
I’m in my 77th year....driving Uber with no problems..working out at the gym...loaded a 140lb A/C to return to the dealer (the wrong model delivered). Ping me in 20 years.
The Queen used to drive around their estate lands all the time in a Land Rover, but even though she is younger than her husband, I don't think she drives at all anymore.
Even on Long Island the sun is in your eyes driving south for most daylight hours from mid December to late January and the UK is considerably farther north on the globe.
Any FReeper saying this old gent shouldn’t drive on his own land - is not worthy of the title FReeper - and might be a ??ssy.
I think it’s a great story.
Well he obviously failed to yield right of way to the oncoming Kia, since he was going to make a turn. The strange thing is, I read there was someone else in the car with him.
Sorry, while I assume he was just confused and the sun had nothing to do with it. His story is not wrong. The reality is that sunset there is currently about 4:30. The sun is quite low at 2:45. In January the sun does not get up very high in England. England is about equal to the lower Hudson Bay in Canada. Much farther north than any spot in the 48 contiguous states of America.
Too bad Charles is such a douchenozzle.
“Prince Philip’s car crash sparks questions about why the 97-year-old was driving”
The question is, did Prince Philip know why he was driving?
Sun starts coming up 3-4 am in summer.
LOL!! They all are!!
What a stud. I can only hope I am driving at 97.
In England which is at a higher latitude I suspect that the 2.45 is true.
The REAL question is did Prince Phillip KNOW he was DRIVING??
The vehicle the Queen liked to drive was a Jaguar X-type, the wagon (’estate’) version. She drove it herself within the past few years, but I think she has given up driving now.
The Queen likes cars, and was known to drive around estates in an older base-version Land Rover, maybe a Defender.
The Prince was driving an LR Freelander, which was sold in the US as the LR2.
All three of the vehicles are entry-level, not the top-end models that might be expected.
