The Louisville Courier Journal apologized to a Kentucky family after the paper refused to run a paid obituary mentioning the dearly departed's less-than-fond feelings about President Donald Trump.
Frances Irene Finley Williams passed away on Nov. 21 and loved ones said they wanted to make it clear that the 87-year-old believed Trump had a bad impact on her final years.
The homemaker was critical of Trump's temper, immigration policies, views on women's rights and ethical standards, her daughter, Catherine Duff, and son, Art Williams, told NBC News on Thursday.
"The whole thing, the whole Trump administration infuriated her," Duff said.
The family paid their local newspaper, the Courier Journal, $1,684 to publish an obit that Williams' family thought was routine.
It listed her activities at St. Matthews United Methodist Church, her love of bridge, dancing, horse racing, babies, flowers, animals, Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson — and her disdain for Trump.
“Her passing was hastened by her continued frustration with the Trump administration," the obit said.
But the paper balked and said it wouldn't run the submitted obit unless the Trump line was removed. The family said no.

obits are not meant to be political platforms. They are, for the most part, meant to be genealogical data.
Here in the Tri-Cities last October was $220 for a slightly longer than average obit for my wife with photo.
The old vicious Democrat was actually saved from making a fool of herself. These leftist swine are sick and disgraceful and the family she raised should be glad that at least for a while the truth of how nasty and hateful their mother was remained a secret.
Wow. Trump Derangement Syndrome extends to beyond the grave.
This lady may have to answer before the Final Tribunal for her hasty and ill-considered judgment of a fellow human being.

Trump is following in his virtually one-man rescue attempt of all that was good and virtuous about the concept of “America”, which in the minds of many is a fool’s errand. Neither “progressive” nor by most conventional standards a “conservative”, Trump has been steering a course that frankly frightens a certain minority, often with vision of a distant and elusive goal guiding him. Like the captain of a ship caught in perilous waters, Trump continues to steer for the most effective way to maintain some kind of equilibrium in an uncertain way and and ever-changing undercurrents, and the hysteria of some of the passengers runs amok.
Steering into the wind is how ships survive hurricanes at sea, and the storm is blowing at its worst right now. Balance of the throttle, the angle of attack to either the wave approaching from before or behind, and sometimes sheer luck, that the vessel neither swamps nor is driven too far off the horizontal if the wave does break over the bow or stern, all determine the outcome.
Life is hard, and sometimes decisions must be made quickly.

But she’ll still be voting.
Since she announced it, she’s inviting someone who disagrees to make sure her plot is well watered and fertilized. This is one of those times it’s best to keep your mouth shut.
The old woman probably loved Trump and they hated her and thought it would be a hoot if they doctored up her obit. The paper was right not to print their commentary without being able to attribute those feelings to the dead woman. If she did indeed hate Trump, the old bag could’ve penned her thoughts or written her own obit while alive.

We so often complain about how our "public servants" don't serve the public. We don't have that problem with Trump, apparently!
What jerks, the whole family. For all they know, maybe her hatred of Trump kept the old biddy alive longer for a cause.

She died when her head exploded when someone said “TRUMP.”
