I have to disagree with you. Nothing ‘trumps’ the authority of the Oval Office; and it would make a profound statement if the President removed this from politics and the usual ‘circus’, and focused again upon the border crisis, national security, and the danger that a feeble Southern border has put us all in for decades.
(Along with some ‘thunderous applause’, there’d also be Pelosi behind him mindlessly chewing her gums, and all sorts of other distraction. Americans need to hear from the President, straight, the situation that we are in, apart from all of this fanfare.)

If the president goes to the Republican controlled Senate Chamber that does not happen.
Were Nancy to actually climb the boycott tree, she couldn’t climb back down and ask GOP permission to attend the SOTU speech in their chamber. And be shown on TV standing in the back of the room.
If Nancy closes the House chamber to the president, she cuts herself out of the loop. I’m guessing the president will call her bluff and make her pay for her fresh talk.
