Trump orders McDonald's for football champions as shutdown cuts staff

Any champion football player disappointed with Monday’s dinner at the White House can blame Democrats, according to a presidential spokesman. Clemson University’s football team on Thursday joined Donald Trump for dinner to celebrate their win over Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship. However, the government shutdown has left much of the White House staff furloughed, forcing the president to set the menu, the spokesperson said. The event created a golden culinary opportunity for a president whose typical evenings reportedly often involve a cheeseburger in front of the TV. On Monday’s menu was “McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King’s with some pizza”, Trump told reporters.

You ever heard of wow belly and beans? It’s better than it sounds if you know what it is. Trump is not collecting his pay and paid for the food. I’ll bet he tipped good too.

The gist of hospitality is making sure your guests feel at home. If you’re hosting college kids and low on staff, serving them familiar fast food is better than having them worry about using the right fork. Win-win.

I have a feeling the team feels honored just to be at the White House and that this is a tale for the kids and grandkids when they come along!

LOLOL

A lot of them already met the president two years ago. I’m sure they were thrilled to return to the White House after their stomping of my Crimson Tide one week ago today. Usually, the national championship teams go in a few months after they win, and they go in and out of the White House rather quickly along with other national championship teams. But President Trump brought these guys in fresh off their win and while most of the team was still available to travel. They do not usually feed the teams that come to the White House.

What makes this team so special is their attitude. It’s all about JOY in all that they do. Dabo gave a great speech about his team and ended it with a quote from the Purdue superfan who passed a little over a week ago. The quote was about being grateful. We could all use with grateful attitudes.

He did serve them just what he said he would!

Gotta love this President.

It’s all about making it simpler during the time of the government shutdown. Let the Democrats all party and look like the spoiled insolent folks they are; Pres Trump knows to be relaxed and down to earth when needed.

LOVE IT.

I saw that. Me, if I had a once in a lifetime visit for dinner at the White House, I’d be hacked off if that’s what was served, but then, I think fast food burgers are his favorite food. Go figure.

“And the author of this is suggesting some football player on the team was concerned or offended by the menu?

The more people I meet the more I love my dog.”
I find the menu insulting.

I read the article. The attendee team did not make any complaint. You made that up.

Where does the debate comment fit into this? Btw, when communicating with you I feel like I'm in game show.☺

It's OK to be straightforward or forthright.

ordering out Italian means lots of plates and utensils. You want Trump should wash dishes too? I’m good with 300-yr old candelabras, gold WH plates and silver platters.

McDonald’s Fish Fillet sandwich is good. Wendy’s chicken sandwich too. Burger King’s hamburgers and fish sandwiches.

PIZZA: Where I live we have Dominoes - had a great hand-spun cheese pizza Friday. I brought it home and ten seconds later I had an empty box, and even that tasted good.

LEDO’s - rectangular thin pizza with a tangy sauce. Their meatball subs are good to but need more balls.

Subway - Meatball subs are light and tasty and not too expensive
Pizza Hut - not what they used to be

Mario’s - Good sandwiches and pizza (thick pan pizza)

Marino’s - Mario’s estranged brother - Great meatball subs and fantastic pizza

Mom’s- Greek style - pretty good. Same for Atlanta - also Greek

Five Guys - hamburger and fries from heaven

So many hamburger joints within 5 miles of the White House that you could eat for years and never come back to the same one.

Any football team worth it’s name would be glad to have burgers and pizza with the Prez, even if they ordered only from the businesses listed above.

We have the best corrupt politicians and traitors in the world in DC, but we also have great burgers, pizza and fries.

At least you can vote out a bad politician but you can chose from a list of good food without having to pay for associated corruption.
