The recently deposed Republican majority increased the federal debt by $7.9 trillion in the eight years it controlled the House of Representatives.

How much of that was to fund the ACA which said the law could cause expenditures the gov’t was on the hook for but wasn’t appropriated by Congress?
The Republicans didn’t have a veto proof majority over a Democrat President.
We Trumpers have never controlled either House. They are deep state controlled and have been for decades. Only thing that has changed over the years was Republicans taking control of both houses due to Deep State Clinton over reach. And of course Trump or liberty finally controlling the executive. But screw reality. Lol.
A dem is like an axe murderer you see outside your door. You have a good idea what it is up to.
A Repuke is like a auto-immune disease. You may not know it until it is too late.
Fake News. Six of those years were under Obama who used a Continuing Resolution to fund the government, not the Congressional budget.
Well, partly. You are right about 6 of those years being Obama and continuing resolutions. Question is why in all those years of house and Senate control could congress not come up with a budget and only pass CR's? Was it incompetence, political, fear of a shutdown and blame, willingness to let Obama take the hit for the out of control spending?
I think its funny (and not funny at the same time) that this article puts the 6 year blame on a republican congress. Why not just the last two years on Trump? Probably because then it highlights 6 or 8 years of rising debt under Obama. Its all just the spin of the day. We need to be on offense. We need our own spin out there. We wont win on defense when the left is constantly spinning a new false narrative.
I am really angry with our party. We had total control last two years and they never got immigration, wall deal done.
So now they wait until Dems get control of House and stand there and say, well we need 60 votes in Senate, we are powerless. McConnell could get it to 51 but he refuses.
They have boxed the President right way they want him- either he caves or he doesn’t and either way the media will put the blame on Repubs not the Dems.
This article is just numbers. It doesn’t explain how it got there and why.
The Treasury Department said recently that the deficit climbed $113 billion from fiscal 2017. Debt will likely worsen in the coming years with the Trump administration expecting the deficit to top $1 trillion in 2019, nearly matching the $1.1 trillion imbalance from 2012.
The deficit worsened because tax revenues are not keeping pace with government spending. Many domestic programs and the steady increase as programs like social security, which the Obama administration was draining with the health care act, are increasing in need.
The tax cuts have helped cause economic growth to accelerate this year with Federal Reserve officials anticipating gains of 3.1 percent. But the program requirement increases the libs covered with taxes are no longer in the chain so the need for funds to cover mistakes from the past still exist. And without taxing, which is how all the lib programs are covered, some after the program is installed when they have to borrow from other funds, it creates the debt.
The answer? I have no suggestion. The failsafe that should have been in place when all the funds were recklessly thrown away, was not in place. And they didnt care because they were done to secure votes.

I disagree. Without comparison data, the article is basically worthless. Having a bunch of numbers hanging out by themselves tells me zip.
...and how they all have it?
So, you’re not a fan of Trump, Freepers, or Republicans.
