I saw that meme too. Very clever.

What my words “lead to” is other people’s business, not mine. I’m not a fascist.

Your story brought back an old memory.

City boy about 12 years old...standing with my back to a barn looking up a cleared hill at my cousin’s 4H, three year old Holstein bull galloping straight at me. Can I make it around the barn to the door or go the other way to and over the fence before he gets to me?

I chose the fence and made it, but it was close.

BTW, unbeknownst to me, the out-of-sight barn door was closed.

Could be worse. Bevo could be barbeque.

LOL! OMG, I imagine if you had gone for the closed barn door, and seen it was closed, there would have been no recourse for you.

Makes me want to post that image of the Templar Knight from “Raiders of The Lost Ark” with a new caption...”He chose...wisely.”

I get along with wild animals pretty well and don’t fear them at all, but I have to admit that the only thing yet I am truly afraid of is a pack of feral dogs because they do not fear man. We have several running around our rural area and they are the last thing you want to corner you.

And we have not domesticated cats... They have domesticated us. lol

Amazing how fast you can figure out how to open barn doors in a situation like that. lol

I believe pet ownership to be objectionable in many ways

You must be a cat person then, since cats are of the opinion that they own the people.

I wouldn’t describe myself as a cat person. I did live with a great one once, kept to himself but was very affectionate when he sensed that it would be welcome. A truly intelligent animal.

A horse went by on 37th Street one time and my roommate and I came to attention, so the cat did too—not from the hoofbeats but because we were listening. He also went for an adventure outside the apartment one day and even took the elevator to another floor. They had to call me at work because he wouldn’t let anyone else near him. He was rare, though. A purebred. But not like the Siamese and Abyssinian, who are haughty and vain and sneaky and pouty. He was Burmese. Not showy-looking at all. Just beautiful. I recommend to anyone who wants the perfect cat.
