Anti-American Democrats were unable to stop America from attaining oil independence. So, the next best thing is to legislate oil (and the political power it represents) out of existence. Democrats are like the Hollywood movie monster who can’t be killed. Then, after you think it’s dead, the camera pans over a hidden egg or cocoon so you know there will be another monster. The most conservatives can ever achieve is a brief period long enough to forget how dangerous the monster was.
