I happened to be passing by the Family Room where the TV was on. Some pinhead ‘analyst’ was saying, “Trump is at the exact same place Nixon was when he resigned his Presidency.”

This is simply wishful thinking on the part of the propaganda organs.

Trump's popularity with his base is in the Upper 40% range. Nixon, still dealing with the Vietnam war, tanking economy and the availability of ONLY the propaganda press had his popularity reduced to the low 20% range.

Could Trump's rating decline next year due to a faltering economy - that is to be seen. The Propaganda boys are no longer the only game in town therefore it will be very hard to drive Trumps ratings down too far prior to the 2020 elections

I’ve come to believe that FDR didn’t care, he just wanted a war with Hitler, and Soviet spy’s in his administration (both known and unknown) kept his nose on target.

So regardless of what happened with the Japanese, he would have gotten his war.

Have you ever heard Winston’s Churchill discuss his first thoughts on hearing about Pearl Harbor?

He thought it was a gift from Heaven. Roosevelt and Uncle Josef fooled them all.

If I could be like Matthew Bracken or Jeff Head, I would novelize my ideas about a future war with China. It would go something like this:

So you are reciting the French revolution and including parts of the Commie takeover of Eastern Europe.

People and Pictures LOVE dystopian novels/movies. And sometimes they cope true - Concentration Camps , Venezuela

Patton might have had a good idea, but the country was broke at the time and we were not about to extend the war against a Russian army stronger than anything we fielded.

Yup. The time to take the Soviet Union was in Hitler’s hands in 1941.

All he had to do was turn Operation Barbarossa into a Eastern European’s crusade against Communism, and recruited Poles, Ukrainians, Roumanians and White Russians against Stalin’s regime.

Too bad his stupid racial purity ideals got in the way.

David Brooks lives in Rehoboth Beach with his partner.

The cleverness enjoyed is, alas, not mine.

But I see the humor.

Partner, does that mean they run a business together, or are they cowboys?

Honestly, I hate this modern meaning of live-in, sexual love relationship...

Especially if they are married. Spouse is the word, then.

But if not married, then say something else.

I dunno what, but “Partner” is such an ambiguous euphemism.

No doubt that the Americans were tired of War by 1945.

As for the Russians, I will disagree with your assessment. 1, The U.S. was their major supply chain. 2. Many in their sphere of influence would have happily joined forces with the U.S. military to take down Stalin

3. All decisions have consequences - We are living with the post WWII decisions today.

4. The same happened in Korea in1953/54. We should have used Nukes. Again all decisions have consequences

5. Next came Vietnam and again the will to NOT win resonates today in the TWO Middle east wars as well as our wasted efforts in Afghanistan

Now that Larry is part of the Trump team he is not free to say all that is on his mind.

The Feds prolonged QE programs and low Interest rates during Obama's rule were there to support Obama and Wall Street.

Well I just don’t know. As a rule, when someone refers to a homosexual’s love interest the word “partner” is often used.

Down here in Rehoboth, we always refer to “Joe” and his partner “Greg”.

Not that I don’t get your point I think I would gag to call David Brook’s “partner” his husband. Or worst, his “wife”.

We have a bunch of Rehoboth folks (also a lot of Lesbians live in Rehoboth) go to our church.

Our priests don’t give them any slack by patting silky little heads and telling it’s okay to marry your same sex buddy. Unlike our Pope.

But we welcome them. Better to have them going to church than not.

Lot of them in the choir when I was in, even the choir Director.

Thanks very much for the replay links, Fishtalk! I plan to only watch SUNDAY MORNING FUTURES. Looks like Adam Schitt will be a Sunday regular for the next 2 years, along with Jerrold Nadler, both of whom, I refuse to watch.

I’ve been so damn tired and depressed, I rarely get up in time to watch Sunday shows, but I always read this thread. You are right, AlasBabylon!, Rodguy911 was sorely missed today! I also hope he had a bountiful fishing day!

Sorry you are depressed Onyx. Is it the country’s politics or personal? Hoping you cheer up but if it’s politics....might not happen.

Allow me to reminisce at this day’s end to retire to my quarters.

I woke up this morning with no heat.

The Ravens threw away a perfectly good game, may Kansas City rot in hell.

I can’t decide whether to keep my Jeep 2005 with engine light on although it drives fine and heat put out goes up to three, not five. Got 109,000+ miles on it, good shape, garage kept, but starting to go. Do not need big car and forget snow. If it’s snowing, I’m inside.

Granddaughter be 16 next year, somehow want to incorporate getting her a car....yada, yada.

All cats were going nuts this morning with heat so low, screaming at me, berating me.....why wasn’t I doing my job?

Granddaughter called, she’s in a bit of a bad mood. No way is her mother going to go up to Baltimore to see her on her birthday. Well maybe if Kaitlyn pays her way.

Anyway, not such a good Sunday but tonight I got heat, still pissed at Ravens, missed RG on this thread...he better not ever do that again.

Cats are warm and happy, Jeep sits in driveway...Guatamalans want to buy.

Could be worse.

..

It’s been pretty dead silent on Freep today...one gig story is a speed trap southern town. Really horrible week for the U.S., and for PDJT, but everyone is asleep today. Nuaert, wall funding, rinos saying PDJT can be arrested, but really quiet.

Well, according to Brietbart:

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said if President Donald Trump did direct his lawyer Michael Cohen to commit federal campaign finance felonies, he was not “above the law.”

Still, I wouldn't worry about it.

Why?

Because Rubio is technically correct: "No person is supposed to be above the law in the USA."

Still, ALL they (democrats, RINOs, Deep Staters, Anti-Trumpers) can do is impeach him and then vote to convict.

It's not going to happen.

And everyone, please remember, Donald J Trump is a fighter.

They will harry and vex him to no end, but that's always been true since he took office.

I'd sooner they--as above--get this on rather than later.

Trump to Deep State:
