Was it used in that LV shooting? In any case I’ve seen demo’s using bungee cords that do the same thing plus someone with a fat tummy can do the same thing as well.

I am sorry, as a member of a gun club which had to ban bump stocks because of members inadvertently sending projectiles into neighboring ranges and putting other members at risk... This is much ado about nothing. Anyone who wants to waste ammunition can figure out other ways to do it.

If they're gonna ban something, how about something useful?

Islam for one! Technically speaking it should be illegal in every civilized nation as it declares slavery legally acceptable. There is no grey area. It permits and encourages the taking of slaves!

Hello 13th amendment! The sleepy Keebler elf has gone back to his hollow tree, what's the hold up?

Of course it is not authorized by the law. But America ceased operating as a nation of laws a couple of decades ago.
We are currently a mostly soft authoritarian government.
And the presidency is more properly thought of as a central committee. This is demonstrated by the current White House staff. Trump is only allowed to do what they agree with and what they will not refuse to execute for him.

So really Trump is Chairman Trump, and he must operate within the bounds of the will of the Central Committee.
However, Democrats have full dictatorial powers.

Yep. Even Obama’s ATF told him he couldn't’t do it administratively. But Trump did it anyway setting a precedent that the next racist regressive fascist (i.e. democrat) can outlaw whatever they want regardless of law.

Trump also green-lighted red flag laws at the state level that have gone wild.

The future holds for more gun control under Trump as the states pile on with bans of many types. Obama is smiling as his work is being done for him.

The NRA sits silently as it will do or say nothing that may cause members of Congress to have to vote on statute that would harm their ratings.

Get use to it as reciprocity and the 2nd Amend. continues to be eviscerated.

What is a Bump Stock? Should it be illegal?!

Is it illegal to ban? Not really sure, but it appears to make it capable of shooting more ammo quicker.

Here is a little more clarification for freepers who don’t know chit about firearms.

The ATF is defining bump stocks as a machine gun. A machine gun is defined is a weapon that can be fired multiple times by a single pull of the trigger. Using a bump stock the trigger is pulled multiple times. There is no automatic sear in civilian rifles. You can go here to understand that: https://www.wideopenspaces.com/what-a-drop-in-registered-auto-sear-actually-is/

The ATF is basically lying. Trump ordered them to lie. When I see gun control rolled back and the Wall built, I’ll be be able to know whether his propensity is politically genetic or not.

Unless I am mistaken, you can own a fully automatic machine gun if you get the proper Federal Permit. Why not do that for bump stocks?

It’s like banning a padded shooting jacket. It’s not a gun, it’s a piece of plastic with a piece of common elastic attached that anyone can make at home.

A gun can be bump fired without it.

Pffht.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2IOZ-5Nk5k

GREAT unbiased video about a bump stock installed on an AR-15.

It’s a video demonstration of an AR without bump stock vs an AR with bump stock.

Full speed and slow-mo comparison video.

I will say this. This bump stock turns this AR essentially into an automatic weapon. NO DOUBT!

I’m not arguing the “legal” definition of “automatic” or the 2nd amendment.

IF you believe that “automatic” weapons should be legal, then bump stocks are fine with you.

IF you believe that “automatic” weapons should be illegal, then bump stocks should be illegal.

White/Black. The rest is just noise.

Please don’t comment unless you actually watch the video.

I’m not necessarily directing this to you, but I wish people would educate themselves before commenting about this. It’s not about feelings, or opinions, or need. It’s about pure, factual law. And pure, factual law does not support the ATF banning this $5 piece of plastic. If this president can do this, then stand by. When we have a dem president, which we will, gun ownership will be in serious jeopardy.

Will it be Illegal to convert a Pogo Stick into a Bump Stock?

What if you take one of those support Springs out of your Mattress and use it to make a Hillbilly Bump Stock?

Will there be classifications of Springs you can legally possess? What is the difference between a regular Spring and an Assault Spring?

These are questions that demand answers from our Overlords.
