Judge orders Justice and State departments to reopen part of Hillary Clinton email inquiry

A U.S. judge ordered the Justice and State departments Thursday to reopen an inquiry into whether Hillary Clinton used a private email server while secretary of state to deliberately evade public records laws, and to answer whether the agencies acted in bad faith by not telling a court for months that they had asked in mid-2014 for missing emails to be returned.

The order risks reopening partisan wounds that have barely healed since Clinton's unsuccessful 2016 presidential bid, but in issuing the order Thursday, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth said the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act required it.

In a narrow but sharply worded 10-page opinion, Lamberth wrote that despite the government's claimed presumption of transparency, "faced with one of the gravest modern offenses to government openness, [the Obama administration's] State and Justice departments fell far short" of the law's requirements in a lawsuit for documents.

A Justice Department spokeswoman declined to comment Thursday. Its attorneys in October before Lamberth conceded some errors in the case's handling but said that none amounted to bad faith or lying, that records were searched soon after they were received and that exhaustive reports by the FBI, inspector general and a House panel that investigated the Benghazi attacks settled the matter.

They've looked into the matter. Nothing to see. Move along.

The key word is “deliberately.” They will never find her guilty of it.

Due to sessions’ inadequacies and his being part of the swamp.... justice has spent millions of $$$ and 2 years time, “investigating” something that didn’t happen. . and let all the clinton/obama crimes go undone.

Clean up their side before they have any right to go after anyone else. It’s infuriating to see them destroy 2 good men when they are so much worse!

Somebody should lay out the law as to what Hillary was supposed to do with all information when she got the job.
Did not know she could keep everything secret for her convenience.

The order risks reopening partisan wounds...

But Robert Mueller's ongoing witch hunt doesn't.

Comey is testifying today on the same matter....and more.

He is free to speak after...which is a big "so what".

Knowingly??? Well duh...Hillary was not a new born politician. She learned all about security while in the Whitehouse....and IIRC, there were lost emails under Bubba, too.

I remember her mentioning...several times...about "tenting" for security transmissions.

The FOIA act request was done by Judicial Watch. Why is it the libs have dozens of loudmouth groups, all well financed, when our side has Judicial Watch, Project Veritas, several college organizations and the NRA.

I’m sure I missed a few on our side, but my point is that we are totally outnumbered when it comes to groups that ACTIVELY push back. We need groups that file a dozen suits a day against freedom hating libs. We need groups that shop for judges that will rule some of the moonbat actions unconstitutional.

We need hoards of people who call and write and email to complain about schools, teachers, government officials, and companies that betray our trust.

The libs have all this. Rush and Sean and Laura and Mark have done a good job and, I think, have lulled us into a sense of lethargy because we own talk radio and a little bit of fox news.

All the while, the libs have taken over just about every other institution with little or no pushback.

Thank God for Judicial Watch, James O’keefe and the others who are actually doing something.

Maybe it’s time for Rush and all the others to convert from trying to explain conservatism to building an army of conservatives who practice real action - not just talk.

I think MANY would sign on and many would contribute monthly if they could see the pushback happening.

The person with the biggest microphone should raise and lead this army of Americans.

I find it amazing that this Judge actually believes he has the authority to tell anyone anything with regards to the Clintons, Doesn’t he know who she is?? What will he do when every last question is answered: “I don’t recall”??

NOTHING!!!
