In DC....you would still be on marginal living with $15 an hour.

In New York city and D.C. $15 and hour might as well be 10 cents an hour. Absolutely impossible to live on. My brother lives in New York city pays $2500 for a tiny one bedroom apt. and his landlord is hassling him to move out so he can charge MORE. They got one bedroom apartments there now going for as much as $5000 a month. It absolutely baffles me why anybody would live there now unless they want to burn through money really fast. My brother seems to think it’s a status symbol. I told him he should get his head checked. I moved out 8 years ago, I couldn’t stand it anymore, the money I was going through was absolutely insane, and now they got a commie running it? I’m surprised the tax rate isn’t 100% yet.

Right! How will they ever find an apartment in DC on a $15/hr wage? Can’t do much living on that!
