Comedian and "Saturday Night Live" alum Dana Carvey paid tribute to President George H.W. Bush on Friday night, telling late-night host Conan O'Brien just hours before the news of Bush's death that he enjoyed "many warm moments" with the first couple while lamenting the "scorched-earth, angry politics" of today.
Bush, the 41st president of the United States, passed away Friday night at the age of 94. His wife, former first lady Barbara Bush, died in April.
In 1992, Carvey performed at the White House at the invitation of Bush and the first lady at the annual Christmas party.
They welcomed my wife and I to the White House, Carvey told OBrien on his TBS late-night talk show. And we really hung out with them, we really got to know them. Carvey, 63, starred on "SNL" from 1986-1993, is arguably best known for his portrayal of Bush.

Jon Lovitz as Dukakis "I can't believe I'm losing to this guy"
I saw Dana Carvey at a private showing in Las Vegas the night before Trump’s inauguration.
Side splitting funny. His act wove lots of political humor without being politically offensive.
He managed to be like Johnny Carson, joking and making fun of everyone with no obvious angst.
Total class act
Same here - Dana is 63? Whaaaaa!
Party on Garth!
I think itd be appropriate for Carvey to be at the funeral and maybe give a eulogy.
I was on a college campus when Bush I was President. The vitriol against Bush was of the same language and form.
Now, as the Left has increased its power, the ideology of Neo-marxism has taken hold in government and society, they have taken the same anger and multiplied it by 10X.
Rich Little just turned 80.
There was a Leslie Neilson movie, one of the Naked Gun movies, I think the 2nd one that had a side splitting parody of GHW Bush and Barbara Bush. Lt. Drebin caused problems at a state dinner.
For 10 days we are going to hear how genteel, how accommodating, how compromising, how pleasant Bush was in comparison to Trump.
The Dems love Republicans that they beat.
It was very nice of Bush 41 to let his mother Barbara serve as First Lady.
Perot beat Bush not Clinton.
Amazing, SMGFan. I mean it’s amazing that all these folks keep getting older and I am holding steady at 29 :)
Also, his appearances on the Simpsons were very fun.

I used to resent Perot for that, but I understand it now. The Bush family are deep state globalists.
There is a pretty interesting documentary on Hulu about the failed Dana Carvey show. Always liked him as a comic and he just seems like a decent, down to earth guy.
Same difference
“I could shake my money maker if I only had ass.” - Dana Carvey on the Dana Carvey show
“...its amazing that all these folks keep getting older and I am holding steady at 29 :)”
Somewhere there’s a painting of you that isn’t doing so well... :)
