GREELEY, Colo. (Reuters) - A Colorado man was sentenced to life without parole on Monday for strangling his pregnant wife, smothering their two young daughters and dumping their bodies in an oil field so he could pursue a romantic affair. Christopher Watts, 33, was spared the death penalty at the urging of family members of his wife, Shanann, 34, who was 15 weeks pregnant, and their daughters Celeste, 3, and Bella, 4.
This is perhaps the most inhumane and vicious crime I have handled, Judge Marcelo Kopcow, who has 17 years on the bench, said in the packed and windowless courtroom in Weld County District Court.

How very Christian of them! I wouldnt be as obliging towards a mass murderer.
Yep if he gets out in GP they will take care of him.
Pathetic.
Why did they abort their daughter before she was born? Same result.
All this horror is normal since the Holocaust and muzzie terrorism. We’re all numbed to it. The media makes it so.
It wasnt the jurys decision in this case.
I thought this was OK out in the New Colorado. After all, the guy really wanted to do it. And “family” is such a burden, you know.
The new abortion.
Why stop at the unborn? If I was to practice adult birth control, its my constitutional right.
Follow the logic.
I think after a couple years of hard labor he would be pleading for death especially as young as he is.
I’ll raise your Dahmer with a Bulger!
That would be best for all concerned.
****3000 children are slaughtered every day by their mothers***
We need another noun for women who abort their children. They are not ‘mothers’ - they are womborts!
Yes, if he was going to serve hard time and have to do prison labor. That is so inhumane don’tsha know... /s
You cannot be charged with murder of an unborn child in CO. Many cases recently here that should have been that (in Longmont we had the woman that tried to kill the pregnant woman to steal her baby; baby died; and a drunk driver that hit a woman about 5-10 days from her due date; baby died).
You are charged with unlawful termination of a pregnancy. The unborn child does not have rights.
The family of Shanann wanted him to serve life.
His family forgave him. I didn’t hear much forgiveness from her family yet.
Me either.
They want everyone else to pay for it. I don't think families ought to be able to obligate the state to pay for what they want.
The man deserves execution, and the people of the state of Colorado deserve for him to be executed.
I’d give him Life on top of a 210 degree skillet. That way he would be preparing for what is to come.
