McSally Defeats Sinema in Arizona. Rosendale Leading Tester in Montana
AP

Posted on 11/07/2018 2:52:23 AM PST by FLT-bird

Arizona

McSally 49.3% 847,021 Sinema 48.5% 832,441 99% of precincts reporting

Montana

Rosendale 48.8% 196,932 Tester 48.3% 194,744 82% of precincts reporting

The bad news is Nevada where Jacky Rosen is projected to defeat Dean Heller.

The Republicans will finish +4 in the Senate. Other than Manchin in West Virginia, all the red state Democrat Senators got slaughtered.

I understand about not pushing through legislation, but what has the house and senate really pushed through besides tax cuts? No wall, no reciprocity, didn’t repeal obamacare, etc. What’s the difference if neither party cooperates with trump?

Honestly, I really hope they push impeachment and waste all their time on it... It will hurt them.

If it was ok for Obama to use it, it’s ok for Trump. Right, Democrats?

Of course not....A Trump veto will be considered obstruction of Justice by the unhinged left...

How dare he veto the will of the Congress ???

In Obama’s first midterm, the Dems lost 63 House seats and 6 Senate seats. GOP emerged with a large advantage in control of state legislatures and 29 Governorships.

This time, the GOP is only going to lose about 28 House seats and will GAIN about 4 Senate seats.

I assume that next year the Democrats who run the House will refuse to appropriate sufficient money for:

1. the military;
2. Immigration and Customs Enforcement;
3. border enforcement generally, including restrictions on immigration from countries that send people who we cannot vet;
4. enforcement of various Trump Executive Orders, including one that denies automatic U.S. Citizenship to children of illegal aliens born in the U.S.;
5. U.S. Government litigation in defense of programs and policies that the Democrats do not like;
6. grants and loans to, and other cooperation with Israel;
7. enforcement of sanctions against Iran;
8. enforcement of tariffs and other trade measures against Communist China;
9. enforcement of laws against racial discrimination when the discrimination is against whites and Asians who are targets of an “affirmative action” program;
10. any program that seeks to undermine the proposition that human activity is causing the earth’s climate to change;
11. any program that encourages anything other than abortion as a birth control solution;
12. enforcement of anti-voter fraud laws;
13. any state that has a photo identification requirement for voting;
14. any state that prohibits voting by felons;
15. any state that allows electricity to be produced by anything other than wind and solar power;
16. any state that has restrictions on abortion.

Feel free to add to the list.

If the Republican-controlled Senate and Pres. Trump refuse to approve a budget that includes such monetary restrictions, there will be a battle as some Government functions cease because of the lack of spending authorization. The Democrats who run most of the dominant media will portray the House Democrats in the best light, and the Republicans in the Senate and Pres. Trump in the worst light. How long will the “shutdown” last?

Maybe the House Democrats will not do any of this. How far will the House Democrats go? How many flies will Renfield eat?

Oh thank god, but still Mcsally should have smoked that hadji taliban lover in the voting, something is odd in AZ, do any FReepers know?

McSally is a terrible candidate. Sinema is a the stylish, pretty "bi-sexual". and she focused like a laser on health care and Medicare.

Arizona is not technically a pick up. It was a defending R seat.

It's pretty clear that neither major party has (yet) happened upon giving the people what they want, which is what I've decided to call "Social Nationalism", mostly because NS is out of bounds as a name.

The People want secure borders and privileges for citizens over non-citizens. They also want the "healthcare" industry dismantled and some kind of national health system that does not require the insurance companies.

This is why they keep voting this way.

so glad to see +5. Drudge had +3 for the Repubs in the Senate = earlier this morning.

He also had Dems +34 in the House.

I love it when he’s wrong!

They can howl all they want. The Supreme Court will back Trump, if it gets that far.

+3 will be closer to the net gains. Assuming Florida holds and it should.

NYT(!) has R at +2 Senate - waiting to call Florida and Montana at this point

“12 RATs have pledged to vote against her.”

Actually close to 40 have. Still I wouldn’t count on it. If anything they’ll have a first ballot where they vote against her and nobody gets a majority, then vote her in on the second. They can then say they kept their promise and voted against her, but couldn’t get enough Dems to support someone else so they had no choice.

Tax cuts are passed, they can’t shut them down. As for the rest, there are going to be a whole bunch of new Dem reps from swing districts, who ran on moderate rhetoric. Pelosi (or whoever) is going to have to listen to them in conference, especially if their majority is thin. They may very well stifle a lot of the most radical stuff, especially since it won’t pass the senate anyway.
